  • Life Changer!
We bought this because my 3 year old likes to bolt around parking lots as if it's a hilarious game. Of course, he has no idea how dangerous it is, and with 2 other children, it's difficult to always be on guard to run after him. We finally got to the point where this was our only option, even though we didn't want to put our kid on a "leash." It arrived on time and I got to try it out the very first day. Oh, My, Gosh, this thing is a life changer. First of all, it's pretty easy to put on and adjust. Took a minute to figure out which arm goes where and what strap tightens what, but overall, not a struggle. It also took some trial and error to figure out that it works best when it's up right underneath his armpits - much like where you'd put the buckle of the car seat harness. If you put it on lower than that, it just rides up there anyway and you have to readjust it. My son didn't want to wear it at first ("it's scary!"), but I put it on his 19 month old sister and he was all about it after that. Can't have her use something he doesn't. LOL. Once he got it on, he was very comfortable. Has not once tried to take it off, even though he knows exactly what it's for. He's never complained about it - although I do have to pull his shirt collar over so they're underneath the straps. If those were padded, it would be a nice improvement. The wrist strap is big enough that there is room to move around but small enough that it doesn't just slip off if you're not holding it. But, you DO want to hold it, because it would fall off if the kid decides to bolt. Well, that first time in the parking lot walking from our car to the restaurant, let me tell you, it was like a different world. I wasn't stressed out, I didn't have to yell once or worry about having to run after him but not know if my other two kids were going to be okay. It was like all this stress just dropped off my shoulders. Then came the bonus surprise. My son is too big for the restaurant high chairs now, but he can't do a booster seat or a regular chair because he gets down and runs around as soon as he's done eating. Yes, we bring things for him to do. It doesn't matter. He thinks it's hilarious to run around and get attention. Well. Turns out, this harness has a little loop you can clip. I'm not sure if this is even what it's for, but we clipped that sucker around the back of his chair and when he got down he took about two steps before he realized that dragging that heavy chair around with him wasn't going to be much fun. He stayed standing up, but we didn't have to worry once about him running around. Even when the chairs aren't heavy enough to clip to, I just hold the strap during the meal. It's long enough that it doesn't restrict my movement, but the second he decides to bolt, it keeps him from running far enough to bother others. Having this harness has given me back my sanity. I have been able to have actually enjoyable meals with my family (and with 3 kids 8 and under, that can be a challenge). My other two are happy we aren't constantly chasing after and disciplining our 3 year old. Our 3 year old isn't running rampant but also can get up and has a little radius of wander so he doesn't have to stay completely seated. And then, on the way back to the car (or any time we go to/from the car to/from a building), I can rest easy and know he isn't going to suddenly dart in front of a moving car. Or rush behind one that's backing out and get run over. I can actually get all three of my kids to the car, loaded up, and ready to go all by myself. This used to require at least 2, if not 3 people. I cannot say enough good things about this product. I cannot believe it was so affordable. And a fun, added bonus is that I do kind of feel like I'm walking a little puppy when I use it!!! LOL!!! ... show more

  • Good for price
Adjustable to size, feels very sturdy and pretty good for price. Only con I have on this is the strap, since it doesn’t stretch very far, but for the price and from the images I was not surprised at that. Overall, works very good for what it needs to be used for, and doesn’t leave any irritation on child after use. ... show more

  • Basic, Works, Strong, Cheap, Easy to Use. BUY IT
Works well, doesn't slip off. The straps that go over the shoulders and to the back buckles are a little long. You can cut them and melt the tips. I don't think it looks very comfortable to wear without a shirt. We used it at GreatWolfLodge and it worked GREAT. Very Happy with our purchase. This is a very good price. The wife wanted to go the whole "backpack stuffed animal disguised leash" I just wanted cheap and functional. Ive had the backpack leash with our daughter, and I can confrim, that this one stays on a LOT better, and doesn't come off. I can lift my 19mo with this no problem. I recommend it, and would buy it again. ... show more

  • Awesome! These things change your life!
I have 2 granddaughters, 2yr & 3 yr. They are a handful. I'm divorced so I don't have that extra person to help out when I want to take them places, even to the grocery store! This product makes things so much easier. Now I don't have to leave the 2 yr old behind when I go out. She can come experience the world with her sister! I took the 3 yr old to a Carnival and she loved it and I didn't have to worry about her running off. When the strap isn't needed (when sitting, or playing in a safe area) I just tuck it into the back of the harness, leaving a loop out that I can easily grab it she tries to run. She wears it in her car seat with no trouble. We can all take a walk down the street with out worrying about running in front of cars! It's a bit like walking 2 over excited yappy dogs, but atleast they are safe and I am not stressed out with worry!!Thanks so much!! Price is great too!! ... show more

  • Bare Minimum Functionality for a Great Price
For a $5 harness, I can't complain too much--it gets the job done to safely restrain my adventurous 15 month old. There are some wonky design flaws that are annoying but, like I said, for $5 I'm not really that upset. Flaws: 1) the adjustable shoulder straps seem to be designed backwards so that the loose tails of the straps stick straight up and are constantly poking the back of my toddler's head unless I tuck them under. Seems like it would make more sense to have them oriented pointing downwards along the back. 2) The leash attachment in the back of the harness is decidedly off-center. It still works, but if I center it between his shoulder blades, then the front is crooked and the shoulder straps are misaligned. 3) The leash in the back is designed with two buckles so it can be used as a short loop, or as a longer single leash. I never use the second buckle since the short loop feature is weird and seriously, who would tie their kid up anyway? I use the longer single leash to keep him safely nearby while still allowing him freedom to walk around town, but the extra buckle is always loose and flopping annoyingly around. It is also bulky enough that the whole harness must be removed when I put him in his car seat. 4) Yes, if you yank the leash, you will not only pull your kid over backwards but the velcro will likely come undone. Don't yank, ok? Summary: This harness meets the bare minimum for functionality and design. ... show more
