My little guy is obsessed with claw machines so I started looking for ones with good reviews (which are unfortunately few and far between) & eventually found this one. This was a little more expensive than the other ones I came across, but the few reviews were good so I wanted to try. I am thrilled to report that this works really well and despite having gotten plenty of toys, he played with this pretty much all day on Christmas! Well worth the price!! Love that everything is already included (minus batteries) so kiddos can get right to playing after a few short minutes of set up. My 10 year old daughter loves this machine. She loves to try and get everything out of the machine, and then reload and start all over. After the first 20 minutes, I asked her to turn the sound off. It was starting to annoy me. It is really loud music and when the timer gets low it speeds up, well that like I said was plenty for my mind after 20 minutes! All the kids in the house love to play on this, and it can keep my daughter busy for at least an hour. So I am very pleased with this toy. I like how the back door has a push button to open and close the door. This is how you can access the contents in the machine. The seller has included a really cute set of small plushies, surprise balls you can add whatever you would like - i will put a candy or a penny in some, and then there are a handful of these little plastic unicorn figures as well. All around this toy makes for a great giftable option to the kidos. My 10 year old approves and says 2 thumbs up! I feel the cost is fair and fits into the same price point as many of the competitors. I am glad I choose to order this one. I like the little dog theme of this machine. This claw machine is fancy pants, for sure. My biggest pro is that the claw in this machine operates on a 2 dimensional grid (as opposed to a hinged arm like other models on the market). This feature makes it so that the claw reaches much more area of the machine and makes it much more fun! The cord is a traditional USB to USB-C, so it could be replaced if lost, but also runs on batteries as well. Mamas and Papas, there is a sound switch on this model. When I say this is the Cadillac of claw machines, mostly this is why! Even though this toy erroneously includes "girl birthday gift" in the title, boys would absolutely love this toy and additional items can be used in the claw machine with a more boyish spin (but stuffed animals are pretty neutral anyways). Get this for the boys in your life who enjoy claw machines, challenges, and detail oriented tasks that take patience and practice! Finally, I really feel like this is a well constructed toy. You can use other mini stuffed animals that are 2-3 times the size of the ones included, but still need to be very small. I will say, I think the age range is a bit off. The claw can run continuously up into the arm if you don't release the levers. I don't think that it's maybe the best option for the 4-6 range who might not have the motor control or reflexes to realize they have to stop - the toy can be easily jammed or the motor could burn out doing this. The lower age range could play with adult support, but I think it's much more appropriate for the 7-12 end of the age range. ... show more
