Description

SDRUM is the world's first intelligent drum machine for guitarists and bassists. By simply scratching across your guitar strings, you teach the SDRUM a kick and snare pattern that forms the foundation of the beat you want to hear. Based on this pattern, the SDRUM supplies a professional sounding drum beat with different embellishments and variations to perfectly complement your beat. Gone are the days of having your creative flow disrupted by searching through lists in a frustrating attempt to find the beat you want. The SDRUM stores up to 36 different songs. Beats are played from a choice of 5 different kits covering a wide range of genres. The pedal also supports three different parts (e.g. verse/chorus/bridge) for each song that can be switched on the fly for enhancing live performances and exploring song ideas.

  • Great price, excellent vendor
In fairness, this is more of a review of GearTree (the seller) than of the product, which I am just starting to learn to use. However, after seeing a number of very negative reviews of GearTree, I want to post a positive experience. The bundle came as quickly as promised, was obviously new and undamaged, and was vastly cheaper than any other seller that I could find who had the identical products. The bundle was complete -- drum synth, power supply, footswitch, and 10' cable with 1/4-inch jacks. Everything works. I would definitely buy from them again. ... show more

  • Complicated, but powerful
If you don't really care too much about the beats you get, this thing is fairly easy to use. However, since I play drums as well as guitar I can be fairly picky about grooves. It took me a lot of practice (and manual reading) to be able to have real control over this unit. The best thing about this unit is that it sounds phenomenal. The drum samples are way better than you get on most electronic kits, even high end ones. I also had no trouble calibrating it, and it always recognizes when I'm trying to make a kick vs a snare. I kinda wish you could program other drums too but basically you play the kick and snare and the unit adds everything else around that. Maybe at some point I'll see if I can get my hands on the firmware source code :) My only real disappointment is that you can't program the external footswitch to control tempo in the way I'd like. You can set one of the switches to control tap tempo, but I had hoped I could use the unit as an alternative to a metronome and then program the switches to increment or decrement tempo by a predetermined amount like 5bpm. It may be possible using an external midi clock but I haven't looked into that yet. ... show more

  • Digitech SDRUM rocks!
I’ve had this Digitech Sdrum for a week, and I’m in heaven. I love this thing. I play acoustic guitar, with a pickup, and tried getting the pedal to make a beat by listening to the guitar and had limited success. If I’d insisted I probably would have gotten it to work, but I tried using the pads instead, and found that option so easy, and intuitive. Maybe increasing the guitar pickup volume would have done it, I don’t know. I just wanted a solid, reliable way and found it with the pads, so I haven’t gone back to trying it with the guitar. There are 36 slots to store your favorite songs, and once you store them, you can recall them and play to those rhythms. Once you recall a song and play it, you can change feel, and do all kinds of modifications to it on the fly. If you like it better after the new embellishment, you can easily save the changes. I found it easy to start playing with it right out of the box, after watching a few YouTube videos, but, once you have it in your hands, the manual comes in very handy and validates all the intuitive things you’ve tried. The best part for me, about this pedal is the ability to do so much without interphasing the thing with a computer. There is so much more capability if you sinc it up with other pedals, or a computer, but for me it has enough with what I’ve seen so far. So, BeatBuddy, you’re old news, outdated, and way overpriced. ... show more

  • Lasted Longer Than My Previous Relationship 😒
The problem I have is with the footswitch. It worked well, until a few months later. It stopped working and I've only used it a handful of times. I read the manual, and tried to reset the footswitch and maybe, MAYBE, you get one symbal crash on the down button and that's it lol, but other than that there is no change when you press on the footswitch, none of the functions function. Which is very disappointing. The SDRUM is great, the footswitch is trash. ... show more

  • Digitech SDRUM Strummable Drums Automatic Drummer Pedal w/ FS3X Footswitch
It's intuitive to use, fills are easy to tap into, and Gear Tree's bundle package included the FS3X footswitch at a lower price than others offered the SDRUM pedal alone. The FS3X and SDRUM purchased separately from the bigger stores were a LOT more expensive. I actually had to check to make sure that Gear Tree's advertised price for the two together wasn't a mistake. it wasn't, and I ordered it at Gear Tree's price. ... show more

  • Exactly as advertised, and actually fuels creativity
As a simple guitarist, the SDrum proved infinitely useable immediately out of the box. I created a scratch riff verse section and easily transitioned to a beefier chorus section all from a simple beat that I input from the start to "learn" how to use the SDrum. This thing will keep me on tempo & be an awesome jam tool for creating song ideas, and the bundle pack of the FS3X Footswitch is still a much more affordable option than the Trio+ or Beat Buddy. Can't sing the praises of this marvel enough. ... show more
