  • Make sure you wanted the T28C and not the T28B
Make sure you weren’t looking for an auto ranging meter and accidentally mix the B and C models up or you’ll end up with every function you can think of except the one you specifically wanted. It’s not their fault but do they really have to look almost exactly the same at a glance with only one letter to differentiate them? Why not name it the T28AUTO or something that clearly separates them?Even a totally different number would help. The price was almost the same as well with a dollar difference which could just be a change in price. If you’re like me and like to mess around with projects randomly at night while people in the house are sleeping one suggestion would be to take the back cover off exposing where the fuses are located and put a piece of electrical tape over the buzzer. It looks like a black cylinder with a hole in the middle of it. if you need it loud you can always just remove it. They intentionally designed it to be opened up to change blown fuses so it won’t just fall apart as soon as you crack it open like some things tend to do. It just feels wrong like you’re disassembling a brand new item an hour after it was delivered but it’s fine. If it can’t handle a piece of tape would you really want to stick it in a live socket anyways? ... show more

  • A very good multimeter at a good price.
This meter does most things that the average person needs and does it well. It does not do everything. It's not an ESR meter and it's not the most accurate capacitance meter but it will give you an idea. The frequency range is limited to about 10K so that is limited to audio and a little above. This is a multimeter, not a 'do all for everyone meter'. If you want a ESR meter, buy one. A capacitance meter, same. Frequency counter or module tester, you know what to do. I just diagnosed a switch mode power supply with mine and it worked well and for a price that is very reasonable. ... show more

  • Great while it lasted.
I bought this as an electrical engineering student, so that I could do lab work at home. It's a great tool with great features for the price but unfortunately it only lasted about 4 years. I was not abusive with it, I don't think I've ever dropped it even once, it just seemed to stop working. I had left it in my lab-kit/tool-bag for about 6-8 months. When I tried to "dust it off" and make a couple measurements the display came on 'garbled' (see image). Since it had been sitting for a long time, and I had never changed the batteries, I assumed that was the problem. Unfortunately even after replacing the batteries (and the supplied fuse, just to be thorough), it appears that this machine is just done. R.I.P. ... show more

  • Very Good for Current and Voltage; Never Tested a Diode or Transistor
This is a very good one for the money. I like to go low-budget as just a hobbyist. This is not a let-down. It is sturdy, comes with spare fuses (never needed one), and a good, firm-selecting dial. The LCD screen is large and readable. I have seen a teardown of one of these on a video and the YouTuber commented about how well built it was. I was convinced. You will have to manually pull cords out and re-plug to switch over to current testing, and there are separate plugs for vastly-different magnitudes. That has not been burdensome for me as I mostly deal with 3v3 and 5v. You don't have to do that for resistor values, which is good. Most recently I used this one for testing whether I had properly soldered some pins and it was very helpful. A good feature is detachable alligator clips that are rubber "sock" insulated. That way you can anchor it if you like to focus on adjustments, or you can detach the clips and use it like a probe. ... show more

  • Best that I've owned
I have owned several multimeters and this by far is the sturdiest and most functional multimeter that I have purchased to date. The price is unbelievable for everything that it does and the accessories seems to cover most bases. This is a keeper.

  • Definitely worth the $$$
I gave it 4 stars in accuracy because it's not the most accurate meter out there, but it's accurate enough (I'd say 98-99%) for anything you'd ever use one for unless your purpose is for finding a precise measurement for some type of math project. It's accurate enough for any professional electrician or auto mechanic. It also has just about any application you can think of, other than testing load, but you can use it for that too if you know how to test load with just a multimeter. You can even test IR, if you wanna see if that old remote is still working. It has a temp probe as well. Comes with alligator clips that were made to fit the ends of the probes as well. The display is easy to read, has a light/flashlight as well, making it even easier. I love this multimeter! The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it is not as sensitive as I would like it to be for testing continuity. It's fine for testing continuity, but could be better. ... show more

  • I have no idea what I'm doing...
This looked so easy on the youtube video...I purchased this to find a parasitic draw on my battery at the fuse box. There are so many buttons and dials and holes to plug on this thing I had to call in back up! Best part is that we found the issue and I probably saved about $500 in diagnostics. I still believe my vehicle is possessed, but at least the battery doesn't die overnight anymore. If you know what you're doing - this is a good piece of equipment. I'm glad I have it in my arsenal -- the person who suggested it to me also suggested that you get a few extra fuses for the device as the ones that come with it blow easily. Good luck! ... show more
