I use a pin gun 6 days a week as a professional cabinet maker/ installer. Ryobi is probably the most common i see in a job site as well as in my to box mostly due to the cost. Honestly they work just fine, my last one made it 3 years. I decided to spend a bit more and try the dewalt this go around. Ater the first day, it's just sooo much better. Very well balanced and ergonomic, I didn't realize the Ryobi wasn't. Dewalt runs faster and sinks 1 3/8 pins in double layer hard wood work ease. I normally would have to set them with a punch or break then off flush. It really feels lighter because of the balance. This 20V DeWalt pin nailer has quickly become one of my favorite tools in the shop. As someone who does a lot of finish carpentry and trim work, this thing is a total game-changer. No more dragging around a compressor and hose—just grab the nailer and go. The tool is lightweight but solidly built, and the battery life is impressive. I’ve used it on multiple projects in a row without needing a recharge. It fires 23-gauge pins cleanly and consistently, and I haven’t had any jams or misfires yet. One of the most convenient and useful devices I have for assembling light wood products. The only wish is that there was an implementation of on-board storing and selectively choosing which length of pin to use.

This tool is a game-changer! I wish I had it years ago. It’s perfect for trim work. The battery lasts all day, and it’s super reliable with hardly any jams. Plus, it’s much quieter than using a pin nailer with an air compressor. It’s definitely worth the money.

I surprised my husband with this pin nailer so he could do some finish carpentry on my stairway wainscoting. He has a finish nailer and a brad nailer, but both require the compressor and he doesn’t like to haul everything out for a small job. The molding I was wanting him to do was pretty intricate and he was also worried that the brad nailer would split the wood. He loved that this was cordless and quiet. He got the job done quickly. The pin holes were so small we didn’t even need to fill them and we had no issues with splitting. He used it on the cove molding shown in the picture. It worked perfectly! ... show more

I just received this tool. It looked like it had been used. There were some grayish/blackish markings on the top of it. I am going to try it out tomorrow. I went a head and registered it, but was a little disappointed. Update. I think maybe it was refurbished. Not sure. But.... I decided to not return it, and see how it worked. I actually loved it!
