I would love to have worn these more than a couple times but I can't until I lose some serious weight to make them fit my feet. I get edema bad in my feet as well. So if I wear these shoes I can't even think of wearing socks with them they are so tight on the top of my foot. I even ordered a size up like suggested and still too tight. But I wore them a couple times and don't think I can return them now. I am disabled and live in poverty so that really sucks. I'll hold onto them until I lose about 50 lbs and try again. Not wearing socks in them caused me two horrible blisters on each foot at the base of my toes going into the padding of the foot before the arch. I also realized another pair of shoes I was wearing weeks before without socks had caused me to get fungus toenails and wearing the vibrams without socks made it much worse. Now I'm having to treat the nails for fungus. So while I did feel like the few times I wore them that they helped my feet issues in some ways, like my balance and feeling heavy footed when walking with other bulky walking shoes, it caused issues in other ways that make them unwearable. Will update my review if/when I lose weight and try then again. I just honestly can't recommend these shoes if you're overweight. ... show more

The shoe runs small. I love the style. Not much of arch support but if you order right size they would fit like a glove. No room to wear socks.

These are the dumbest shoes ever, they manage to be both silly and trendy at the same time which is usually my gauge to avoid a product entirely. I eventually broke down and tried these because they were made out of "natural" products (besides the sole) and I wanted an alternative to flip flops. I also thought they might be good rehab for my plantar fasciitis, as an alternate to over-supportive and over-cushioned supportive shoes. I mean eventually you need to get your foot stronger and super soft/supportive shoes don't do that. At first I couldn't get them on, my toes didn't want to separate. After 5 minutes I figured them out. After wearing them for 10 minutes I love them. I think these are my new favorite shoe, they are that comfortable. I don't know for running, I"d definitely have to get used to them first and and also get over my plantar fasciitis. I'd wear them everywhere if they weren't so embarrassing. I wear a size 9.5" shoe. I measured my foot from toe to heel and followed their size chart and they fit perfect. Update after a couple weeks: I still like them a lot and wear them everyday. I think they are helping with my plantar fasciitis but that might be healing anyway.... At least I can say my foot feels stronger and it doesn't aggravate my plantar fasciitis. Downside is they look silly and once you get used to them normal shoes feels strange and constrictive ... show more

This is my fourth pair of FiveFingers, and I had a hunch to ignore the several Amazon reviews/answers suggesting to size up from my typical size of 44 (I'm generally about a 10.5 US). The 44s must have been about two sizes too long! I returned them for size 43s, but was disappointed to find that *those* were uncomfortably snug for length. I decided to keep them, and they are passable now after a few months of wear - but they still seem off length-wise compared to my other FiveFingers. It is almost as if the size 44 pair was a 45 (or even 46) that was mislabeled. On a positive note, these look great, and will be at home at the grocery store or on the trail. While the soles are a little more plasticky (less grippy/rubbery) than on the trail- or running-focused models, they have improved noticeably with wear. And, wow are they light! If you're able to find the right size for you, then these are shoes that just sort of disappear on your feet as the day goes on. So, while it might take a couple of tries to get the right size (unless I encountered some labeling issue that has since been fixed), this is a worthy casual/everyday option for the FiveFingers enthusiast. ... show more

    • When ordering pick a size up otherwise they will be to small.
I bought these for my son for Christmas. He had me order the size he always gets but for some reason these run small. He is going to keep them and hope they will stretch .
