Dermalogica has been around for many years and was recommended by a dermatologist for my son in the 1990's. I have used some of their OTC product and been happy with the products and now this is a game changer for me if it works. The product comes with a serum to be used in the daytime after washing and toning my face. There is a light scent to the serum but the serum was absorbed within a couple of minutes. It dried smooth to the touch and left my face looking healthy and smooth. I do have a hyperpigmentation spot on my lower leg and I am also using this on that area. The product has a night time application which I applied after washing and drying my leg and face. Then I applied the night time application, a peel. I rubbed the peel in well and then let it rest for 15 minutes. There was no burning or stinging just a slight tingle upon application. Then rinsed off with cool water and went to bed. Since starting these two steps of skin treatment, my face and leg area do look healthy. I do know it will be a matter of time before I see a difference in the discoloration. This is an excellent product from a company with a great reputation....I highly recommend this product.

I’ve been using the Dark Spot System Skin Care Kit for a few months now, and overall, I’m pleased with the results. The spots on my skin have noticeably faded, and my skin tone looks more even. The serum feels lightweight and absorbs well, and the peel is gentle but effective when used as directed. That said, this system is definitely a major commitment. It takes a lot of time and consistency before you start seeing any visible changes, so don’t expect overnight miracles! It took weeks before I noticed a difference, which can be frustrating if you're hoping for quicker results. Also, it's a bit on the expensive side, especially considering how long it takes to see progress. If you’re not ready to fully commit to a multi-step routine and wait it out, this might not be the best fit. But if you’re patient, consistent, and willing to invest the time (and money), the results are worth it. Just go in with realistic expectations.

Dermalogica is known for quality cosmeceuticals that perform. So I am excited to try this 2 step kit from them to lighten dark spots. And know that it will take some weeks to see results. The kit contains two products - a daily serum and a peel. The peel is to be used daily for 4-5 days and then a few times a week. In the past I have tried some powerful ingredients like prescription hydroquinone and my skin can’t tolerate it. So I look forward to this gentle approach. It does contain a number of ingredients known for skin lightening. The one key is that the sun must be avoided because dark spots can come back fast. Also this duo seems appropriate for mild lightening not melasma. I am going to give it 5 stars due to the easy to use method and the ingredients. But it will take time to see results so I will update this review if it does not work.

I’ve been using this set for about three weeks so that might not be long enough to get the full effect. So far, the face serum feels quite soothing and goes on easily. It has a faint, pleasant scent (from the floral ingredients, I believe) going on which does not hang around so that’s nice because it doesn’t compete with anything else, and my skin feels soft. I don’t have any dark spots on my face but I do have a couple on my hand so I’ve actually been using these products there as well. I haven’t seen any real difference but it might be too soon. I wasn’t sure what to expect from the peel because I expected it to be more obviously a peel when I used it, but I haven’t used one before. It goes on smoothly (it is an opaque pale skin color when applied) and washes off well. There is no tingling or stinging during or after application. Overall, this appears to be a quality product but based on the results so far, I think the price is too high.

This product is thoughtfully formulated; It provides a two-step treatment. The first step is a day serum made with a host of plant ingredients such as citrus, which are known to help even out skin tone and improve complexion. The second step is an evening peel of a combination of acids, this is a quick peel (15 minutes) meant to be applied directly to dark spots. I DID SEE IMPROVEMENT of acne marks, scars and this type of surface level discoloration. My melasma seemed a bit improved but it was too slight for me to be sure. With melasma, I think you need to manage your expectations, as no over the counter treatment will get rid of melasma. Many products have been used, even prescription strength formulations with varying results. Your best bet is to be consistent with sun protection and shield the affected areas. So, I think this product works for certain types of dark spots, if you are consistent. And using it along with sunscreen will provide you the best results.

My review is for the Dermalogica PowerBright Dark Spot System Skin Care Kit, Includes Face Serum and Peel - Fade, Lift, and Prevent Dark Spots and Hyperpigmentation I don't know that I either love nor hate this. But I am taken aback by the price of nearly $150! It comes in a relatively small box which does not transmit the idea that it's a high-end / luxury product set. I was previously familiar with Dermalogica from skincare samples after a facial. I think they are used in MANY salons and spas, and for reason -- in general, they don't cause irritation. However... I have quite sensitive skin, and so I'm generally cautious when trying new products like this (though not severe enough that I first patch test). I'm happy to report that I *DID* experience any redness or irritation during or after using this. However, I think it's from the higher concentration of active ingredients, as it needs to pack a punch to truly remove dark spots. Bottom line: I would NOT purchase again.

I am so excited by the prospect of potentially getting rid of a dark spot on my nose. It's been there for a few years, and I am sure that not having it will make me look younger. I am just getting started with it, so no results to speak of yet, but I do think it is very nice. The serum and the peel are both almost odorless...the serum has a slight citrusy smell to it. It is very mild. I like the way both the peel and the serum make my face feel. I know it will take some time to see results, but I can't wait.

I’ve been a fan of Dermalogica products ever since we used them during my esthetician training - I treat myself every so often to an item or two from this high end skincare company. One of the things i like about this company is that they’re not a clothing designer, or cosmetics manufacturer who ventured into skincare at some point. Skincare has always been their focus, and that’s what they concentrate on. I have an area of discoloration right between my eyebrows - it seems to be genetic or hereditary as my mother has it too. Thus far, it’s not really fading, and I’ve been using these 2 products for 10 days now. There is a serum, to use after cleansing and toning. It’s lightweight, absorbs easily, and my skin doesn’t feel either sticky, or greasy after using it. There’s a light scent, citrussy, quite pleasant, and fades quickly. And there’s a peel, which works suing Apha Hydroxy Acids, and Polyhydroxy acids - both of these are chemical exfoliants, meaning they break down bonds in the dead skin cells on the upper surface of skin. The cells can leave our skin looking quite dull. However i am a fan of gritty exfoliants, and i don’t know whether it’s a goo idea to be combining the 2 types. I’ve discontinued using my gritty exfoliant while I’m testing out this peel. My skin definitely feels good - removal of dead skin cells allows moisturizer to be absorbed beter so thats a benefit. My face feels lovely and smooth, but the discolored area between my eyebrows has not faded yet, so I’ll keep going, and I’m hoping it will reduce that
