  • Very pleased with Dell monitor, review comparison with a less expensive HP.
I am pleased with this monitor; I had bought before an HP 24mh which returned because of the terrible resolution quality; it was awful for editing Word documents and Excel spreadsheets. Looking and the text in the HP was straining my eyes. Then I decide to purchase this Dell monitor instead. Certainly, it was $50 more. However, it is worth it. This monitor is perfect for editing Word documents and Excel spreadsheets; the text is much clearer and crispier. Other advantages over the HP are that the base is wider and a bit heavier, which is ideal when rotating the screen. The Dell monitor rotates clockwise and counterclockwise (the HP only rotates in one direction). The monitor can swivel to the right or left. The Dell monitor carries a 3-year warranty, while the HP is only a one-year warranty. I have a Dell PC, and an account with Dell, the PC detection on the website detected my new Dell monitor and displayed the 3-year warranty, so it is already registered in my account. Remember to take a picture of the label on the box for all enquires; Dell needs the "Service Tag". You can enter the Service Tag number to register the monitor only, that's if you have a different PC brand. Once you enter the Service Tag, you will be able to Download / Install the "Dell Display Manager" highly recommend it. It adds functionality to the monitor. See the attached picture. You could also download a PDF of the manual for the monitor and the Dell Display Manager. The only thing that this monitor does not have is a speaker. However, the HP speakers were not that good, so for this monitor, I plug a small speaker to the monitor audio out. Overall it is highly recommended. ... show more

  • Good build, sturdy, great stand, good image
Started using new monitor for past few days. No issues with it so far. Despite what some expressed is cheap built quality, I don’t agree. It feels solid to me and well built, sturdy. I have not bought monitor in 10 years, always a Dell....I try to make things last as long as I can...and I don’t see any less quality in this monitor than the one I have had all that time. Stand is excellent; allows for screen to be up a bit, and viewing at various angles. Moves well, not too stiff but not too loose...at least for the moment. Far better than older monitors which were stationary and too low. Stand also provides a more open area below monitor to place things, so you have a bit more room on desk/table. Clarity is good on screen, though I expected to be “wowed” with it being HD. Like an HP laptop I bought last year, it’s acceptable in screen quality. (Some of my older computers’ screens packed a punch with their sharpness and clarity, and they were not even HD.) That may improve when I use HDMI cable. Dell’s manual (not included, as expected....has to be printed from online) shows a CD with drivers is included in box. Nada...Dell does not do that any more. But one thing some may be disappointed with, and this is per Dell: this monitor does *not* have a cam. It seems many on the market don’t any more, I found out. Found that surprising, tho I’m sure it’s just another way to cut down costs. ... show more

  • Another Dell Winner
upgrading a old Dell UltraSharp U2312HM from 2012 that still works but just starting to show its age . That old dell has been rock solid for years , so when it started to get some age I decided to get this as This will be my 4th dell and I have yet to have on fail on me or have issues What I like The stand is good and solid , not quite as bulky as the older dell but does weigh in less , still fully functional , swivels right-left and up and down well made stand and sturdy Notice a major difference in font clarity , crisp and clean , more readable Control buttons are tiny about the size of a grain of rice , very clicky buttons . well made and not cheep feeling Menu is not hard to figure out , I saw a option for setting " response time " changed that from normal to fast and made a big improvement Came with a Display port cable that was long enough to go from my desk to my Video card with no issues , What I did not like Out of the box You will need to tweak this monitor , I am nit picking here as settings are subjective ... show more

  • It’s a cheap, quality monitor
This monitor is pretty affordable and has amazing color quality. I typically use it for photo editing and digital art, but it’s also great for streaming videos due to how good the colors are.

  • Great for your home office
I have ultrasharps at work that I love, so when we starting having to work from home with just a laptop I knew I needed more screen real estate at home. I needed an HDMI cable too (not included), but this monitor good for adding speakers (over HDMI to the audio out on the monitor) and USB devices (one USB plug to computer connects like 4 devices on the monitor) easily (only two cables to connect video, audio out, mouse, keyboard, printer). Almost as good as a dock. The text on this screen looks great. Very easy to read documents, type documents, work on powerpoints and stuff. Crisp detail. Youtube looks fine. I haven't tried to game on it, but these are awesome for office productivity stuff. ... show more

  • A bit of a Vignetting effect on the edges of the display
Works fine so far. seems pretty color accurate. If there is a delay in input from my laptop, I have not noticed it at all. The screen seems about as responsive as the display on my MacBook when typing or light gaming. For the price, I am surprised that the corners of the display don't seem to be lit as brightly or evenly. The monitor buttons also feel a bit mushy. It would have been nice if they included a thunderbolt cable or hdmi cable in the box. But for general purpose use, I find the monitor is more than suitable for getting work done and coding! ... show more
