Used this tool for installing Trex decking. Definitely helps straighten out and fasten boards to where you need them to be. Only issue was the common slipping issue at the joist with or without joist tape; I would recommend knurled fingers. I added fabric tape which still didn't work, easiest solution was to pull back on the outermost part of the joist attachment extension and pull towards yourself, while at the same time pulling the larger lever handle towards yourself, almost like doing a pull-up. For me the biggest issue using this tool was at sister joists, which wasn't possible since the fingers are not adjustable.

As long as I can find a better set of pins this could be good tool that I use every 10 years or so. I straightened about 60 boards, somewhere in the middle it started to angle funny during compression and I realized the pin had bent. Swapped the pins and it worked for another 10 boards before that pin was bent. I then used it at the odd angle and managed to get through the remaining boards. Only other issue was the plastic end pieces popping out since it didn't sit flat against the board any longer.

When it came in I used it the next day and when I want to pull it the pin fell out and seen the cotter pin was missing so I went to get a new one and it works great just check it to make sure it's all there

While it will bring in moderately bowed boards, it does have its limitations, the other issue with this tool is if you are installing the mastic tape on joist the tool destroyed the tape in the area were deployed, found it was not as bad by moving the pin installations so the keepers were up and not down while it still did some damage it was not as bad as with the keeper pins downward

This product works great when the joists are dry and it lets the bar grip it, but if there is a little moisture on the joist it slips. I recommend wrapping the part that grips the joist with rubber tape, and problem solved.
