I've been using this tool to deck a 3 tier 260 sq ft deck and for the price it works great. The quality is good and I got it on Black Friday sale price of $40. There are a few limitations that you should understand for the price, I'm not sure if other, higher priced options fix these. 1) I'm building the deck by myself, so need a "locking" feature, which this has, but it only locks when the arm is perpendicular to the deck board. This causes some additional time to setup, but I've always been able to get it to work (sometimes need to use my foot :)). It would be nice if it had some sort of lock lever that could be set in any position. 2) Another reviewer mentioned that you need to keep the support board bolts lose in order to get the fit right on the vertical 2x6 (in my case). This was great advice. The tool only supports vertical 2 by or double 2 by material. Other, more expensive tools look like they have a slide mechanism to adjust for different widths, but the Ruipai does not. I found the advice critical in using the tool, if kept lose, it allows for variations in angles and width. Another reviewer mentioned that the tool messed up his joist tape, which I also experienced. But joist tape is made to be very flexible and it was a simple to smooth it out before moving to the next board...this was not an issue for me. All-in-all this is an invaluable tool at a great price and I could not have done my project without it! I strongly recommend it.

This was incredibly helpful to save me from Home Depot deck boards coming in an S Shape. It is easy to use, there are a couple ways you can use the two bolts to bend the board in the right spot. The price is a bit steep, but the quality is strong and the design is to be able to use it on any framing you have under the boards. The negatives I would list are the price, it was higher than a few others, but the design of the round roller did help a lot without severely damaging the wood like I have seen in other similar products. It can dent the side a bit. I also would recommend tightening the bolts for the two parts that go on the frame but not too tight. The design does mean that it needs to be a little loose but too loose and it could break or not give you the leverage you need. Pay attention to those two bolts and tighten them to where they barely twist and it will help you.

I opted for this device over more expensive versions, including the CAMO unit for 2x. It's VERY rugged! I've been really pulling on this like a gorilla to ensure a tight fit between the PT deck boards and it's worked like a charm. My only gripe is that the construction is ~5/16" thick, so the black roller only bites into about half the deck board and has occasionally "rolled over the top" of the deck board. Maybe I just pull too hard... Get this! You won't regret it!

Works as intended and high quality. Heavy duty steel and hard rubber wheel left no marks on PVC decking. I balked at a certain brand available at Home Depot at twice the price. Glad I did. These make installation and holding things in place easy.

There are very few of these brands on the market and this brand is half the price of the others. I don’t know why, but am very grateful to have received TWO of these when I only ordered ONE! One of them had a sticker on it that said “a gift”. I don’t know what motivated this seller to “double” my order but not only will a second one be very helpful, it is a very good quality item and what the seller did, speaks volumes to their character. If you’re looking for an item from this seller, please show your support for their generosity and purchase from them….and who knows….you might get twice as much as you expected!!! Will this allow you to install straight boards? The short answer is yes. Will you find it easy? The short answer is no. Overall, this is not a good tool. It swivels and flexes way too much. It will get you close to alignment, but it takes way too much effort and is not user-friendly. With 2 users, it is adequate. Do not even try to use this on your own. When trying to pull the lever, this device will always pull up and away from the board. It is a royal pain in the .....
