Firstly, the tool was extremely difficult to piece together. Yes, the pieces should fit snug, but I practically needed to grind some metal down to get it together. Second, when actually using the tool, the part that is supposed to grip the joist, just didn’t want to stay put. A standard 2x10 should be no issue yet even with go tape attached to the “knobs” on the tool, it just kept slipping off grip. Because of this, the tool was useless to me. I will be returning for a refund and hopefully purchasing one that actually works. Perhaps this is what I get for purchasing the cheapest option on Amazon. Lesson learned. ... show more

I didn't think this was going to be very sturdy for the price, but it worked great and was plenty strong enough to bend 6" 5/4 deck boards. Only complaint would be the "Anti-slip" handle. It's a super think little piece of some sort of rubber. Offers almost zero padding and tends to slip.

Piece of crap. Do not buy. Easy to put together but would slide on every board. Had to use a clamp to hold in place. Very frustrating and took me longer to finish my deck

Not sure why it's getting bad reviews, I wanted something cheap as I'm just doing a small 12x12 deck. This thing did the trick straightening out my hardwood deck boards. Happy to have had it.

    • THis does not work, It slides down the joist instead of locking

bought this for the installation of deck boards. WHen I needed to use of to tighten the fit of the boards, the part of the device that locks on the joists just slid along the joist instrad of locking as is described in the advert. Unfortunately I am 6 days past the return date. They win I lose.
