This product was as described. I would call the odor faint, but it may affect people with sensitivity to odors. I would say it dissipates with a little time. The product has a realistic appearance and met my use for it in my bedroom studio. I used a staple gun to secure the vines, and I also broke a few of the pieces off to help give it a “branched-off” look with each other. I think it turned out great, and the price is right. I ordered this artificial ivy garland for my living room and I was delighted once the smell was gone. When it arrived the odor was overwhelmingly unpleasant. It smelled like old litter box odor. I sprayed Lysol liberally and left it in fresh air for two days before use. Once that was done the vines looked natural, hung nicely, and added a refreshing touch of greenery. Why it deserves attention The leaves look surprisingly life like with realistic textures and slight sheen. They drape beautifully along walls or shelves and can be shaped to fit different spaces. Once the smell was eliminated they became a beautiful accent against plain surfaces. Quality and length This set includes twelve strands totaling eighty four feet. The vines are light but sturdy and can be twisted or bent into wreaths garlands or trellis decorations. The silk leaf material feels flexible and resilient. Final thoughts If you are willing to wash or air out the vines first this garland looks lovely and adds instant foliage to any decor. Just be prepared to manage the initial smell. Bought these for our catio because our cats have never met a plant they didn’t want to sample. These gave us the greenery vibe without the “please don’t eat that” anxiety. A few things to know: when you first open the package, there’s definitely a smell. Nothing alarming, but don’t expect a fresh meadow. We let them air out for a bit and the odor faded. You get 12 strands per pack, which sounds like a lot until you’re trying to create a lush jungle aesthetic. Depending on how full you want it to look, you may need more than one set. The vines are surprisingly realistic from a normal viewing distance. Close inspection might reveal their secret identity, but my cats haven’t filed any complaints. As for sun exposure, I assume they’ll fade eventually—everything loses the battle against the sun. But for now, they look great and should get us through at least this summer looking like responsible plant owners without actually keeping plants alive. ... show more

These are great we use them to hang as a divider and put some string lights behind them. Yes, they did have a bit of a smell when they were opened, but it wasn’t so bad. We left it open for 24 hours extended them out so that they would stretch and it was fine.

Used to layer over an ivy fence for a more realistic appearance. Worked beautifully, very realistic. Excellent condition worth the price. Use for indoor use, but would easily be used for outdoor. Excellent length and fit our needs. Not cheaply made very durable. Worked well with string lights.

They shipped fast, but they did come kind of smelling like sewer water and quite a bit of leaves fell off during the untangling/hanging process but it’s a really cheap option and honestly still look super cool anyway

I got these artificial ivy leaf plants to spice up my daughter's dorm room at college. She wanted something she could add that shows a little bit of her personality. She is a big plant lover and having these artificial plants on her side wall next to her bed made her really happy. Realism I think will have to depend on the person. They look like fake plants on the wall but what it brings to the space depends on what the person wants. My daughter just wanted to add something green to her space. The ivy is not to think. I think it is thick enough to holdup durability wise making it east to install and takedown off the wall. It can fit many different spaces and I do to think you will go wrong if you want to add something different to your space.
