    • Slightly finicky software, but overall a decent camera

Upper Midwest winters get really cold so I'm hoping that this camera will last throughout winter here. Installation was quite easy and took less than 15 minutes depending on skill. The setup was fairly easy as well and the app is easy to touch. The video quality is also pretty nice and is true to 1080p as advertised. The software part that I mentioned is a bit finicky- out if the box you have to update the firmware. It's fast to update but stalls at 99% and you have to wait for it to actually get to 100%. Patience is the key for this one as I waited roughly 1hr just to let it update successfully. ... show more

    • No wires = a big plus...

This is the camera to get if you just can't run a cable for a POE camera. This is the case for most of the exterior of my house. I got this camera to use on my front porch and so far, I'm happy with it. Setup was fairly easy and straight forward plus the manual is very good and comprehensive so that helped a lot. I charged it over-night before setting it up and setup for me took about 30 minutes. I installed an SD card before I set it up but I wouldn't do it that way if doing it again. During the setup, one of the first things it prompts you to do is upgrade the firmware but I kept getting an annoying voice notification to format the SD card. It wouldn't let me upgrade the firmware until the SD card was formatted so ended up doing that first. It worked OK with just a little hic-up. It formatted quickly to 99% and just hung there for what seemed like forever. I ended up restarting the camera and trying the formatting again and after rebooting it just said that the format was successful - not as clean as I would like but OK. I then started the firmware update and it did the same thing - quickly got to 99% and just hung for a long time but after a while it indicated that the firmware update was successful so maybe just being more patient than I was is the trick. Mounting was simple and took less than 10 minutes. I would rather have mounted it very high up but it does need to be recharged so I mounted it lower than I would have liked so as not to make it a hassle to get to when it does need to be recharged. Using the camera with the App is easy and intuitive and the motion sensing works very well. Whenever it detects motion, it records a short clip that's stored in a Micro SD card. This works flawlessly but you can also easily put the camera in live mode where it's showing you a real time stream. It's easy to turn on the light from the App and to use the two-way audio features. I found the night vision to be quite good. In the manual, it says that the recommended temperature range for the camera is 14 degrees F to 113 degrees F. Here in AZ during the summer the temp routinely gets above 113 degrees so I'll have to wait and see how it does when it gets very hot outside. The App gives you the option to pay for a cloud storage subscription but no high pressure sell. I just purchased a 128gb micro SD card and the App makes it just as easy to use with the local storage.     • Well Designed Solar Panel

This solar panel has both a Micro USB & Type-C Port adapter that are slim fitting, perfect for security cameras and other outside devices. This works well for those devices that have built in rechargeable batteries, designed for outside use but with the ability to recharge the batteries. Note that a 5W panel is designed to be more of a battery maintainer, rather than a total charger. 5 watts really isn't that much, but it adds to a camera's battery over time. It also keeps the battery charged during normal use. I imagine, if have extremely heavy use of the camera, as in turning the lights on at night, or doing a lot of two way communications, it's possible that the battery won't fully come up to full charge. But overall, for most, this type of panel will work out ideally for them. ... show more
