The crib looks good, I like how it looks. It came scratched up on parts, so I put that side on the back towards the wall. That bummed me out. It’s not very sturdy, if you’re wanting to crawl into it with your baby at any point, you can’t. I imagine the baby will shake the thing apart eventually but it’ll work for now. ... show more

Even before I became pregnant, I had come across a picture of a nursery featuring this crib. I loved it! So when I actually did become pregnant, this was one of the first cribs I started looking at. The assembly was very simple and the finish was great. It appears sturdy. Other reviewers complained about the stickers and the smell of the lacquer. Regarding the smell, I did not find it anymore offensive than any other piece of furniture out of the box. The smell went away after a couple weeks and since he assembled the crib pre-baby, this is not a problem. I do completely agree about the stickers. ALL of the stickers including warning labels, labels for assembly, etc are placed over parts of the rails that are very obvious and you want most of them removed. Unfortunately they are applied with some of the stickiest and most resistant adhesive possible. It took us longer to remove the most annoying stickers than it took to assemble the crib. My husband gouged the side of the crib on accident trying to remove one of the stickers. In the scheme of things I love the crib and the purchase. The stickers could improved upon though. ... show more

I loved the retro style of this crib online, but I will have to admit that the pictures made it seem a little flimsy. I have onwned a much more expensive crib four years ago that was extremely heavy and took about three hours to put together. I found this one (finally, in stock!) here on Amazon for a steal. It came five days earlier than estimated. As I took the pieces out, I was really excited with how heavy they were, especially the end headboard and footboard. It took me 10 MINUTES to assemble this crib - there are literally four steps to it. I don't it could possibly be easier than if it came fully assembled. It took an Allen key and a Phillips head screwdriver, and that is it. Fully assembled, I LOVE THIS CRIB! I did leave the casters off just because I don't need to roll the crib around too often. The feet are very sturdy, but the crib itself is 200% more stable than my previous expensive heavy crib. It doesn't wobble, move, etc. It's amazing. And it's still light. My husband and I picked it up with one hand each and moved it all around the room for the best location. In all, we could not have picked a better crib! Note: this crib is very stationary, no risk with the new drop-side ban. It's completely comfortable to lean over the crib to get the baby out (I am 5'4"). ... show more

The crib arrived in perfect condition. It was easy to put together. It took me less than 15 minutes and I’m 7 months pregnant. We ordered it in ebony. The screws looked rusty which doesn’t matter to us because the crib is black but might matter in a lighter paint color. We won’t be using the wheels. They look super cheap and hazardous with our floors. I put some floor protectors on the bottom of each leg. It says you need a Phillips screwdriver but not sure why because it includes an Allen wrench and that’s all you use for the whole thing. I would recommend using a leveler when you are placing the spring portion because ours looks offset until I used one to correct myself. ... show more

definitely met my expectations. Great price, great design. Most impressive was the Greenguard gold certification which was a must for me. I would agree that this product does not feel as strong as other wooden cribs (we have a potterybarn that is much heavier and "solid" feeling. However, we pushed and shook the crib a bunch to get a sense of its sturdiness and I am very comfortable with how it felt. Given how light it is I would say that maybe a strong three year old jumping on it could move it a bit but I don't exactly plan on that happening. We did not use the wheels, mine arrived with silver wheels not gold, as this is on a hardwood floor and I don't want it to move around. ... show more
