Founded in 1990 by Mandy Cabot and Peter Kjellerup, Dansko’s mission is to improve the quality of people’s lives through our products, our passion, and our commitment to a better tomorrow. Former horse trainers, Mandy and Peter were traveling in Europe when they found the perfect “barn shoe” – the traditional clog. They returned with suitcases filled with clogs for family and friends, and soon started selling them from the back of their station wagon. Word of the clogs’ comfort traveled quickly, and Dansko (meaning “Danish shoe”) was born.

Then a baby peed all over me at work and while I was able to change my clothes I had possibly peepee shoes that I needed to wear the rest of the night. I have to say the change has been great. I had been wearing brooks ghost for the last year FYI, 3 pairs of them!! And the 3rd pair is starting to show signs of wear. My feet feel fine after a 12hr shift. They aren't as heavy as I feared and I got used to the clog by wearing them around my house a few times before going to work. Had my original set of danskos for over 5 years and the sole was disintegrating so I upgraded to these. These are noticeably lighter and I get less of the ankle rolls I tended to get at times with my prior pair. The brown coloring is beautiful and goes with my various scrub colors. LOVEEE super comfortable I wear them for my 12 hour shifts in the ED everyday and my feet dont hurt!!!! They do get pretty distressed and beat up looking but I like the look so do be aware of that if thats not your thing.
