In every other pair of Danskos I've ever worn, I need a 40. I've noticed that they're running a bit large the last couple of years. Now I slide around in a 40, but a 39 is a little small. Aggravating, especially b/c you don't want to wear thick socks all the time! But a 40 in these was workable, especially if I fastened the strap a little tighter to keep my foot in. Not as clunky looking as I feared, especially with a Dansko wedge. They're comfortable, but we know it's a lot of shoe sometimes. Toe tapers a bit, but there's enough room for my long toes. I've got very high arches and insteps, and the strap was long enough to fasten on me. I had wanted these over the other very similar model with the actual buckle (if you have to undo that tiny strap each time, seems like it would break fast) for durability concerns, but after getting these on my feet, they just look off. Too much shoe in some places, too little in others? I was looking for a brown dressy-ish pair of work shoes. This color isn't really brown. First, the toes are indeed darker than the rest of the shoe. I hate the look, but eh. What got me was the tone. These are not a warm light chocolate brown. These are a weird greenish brown. They're brown, but wrong. If you're looking for actual brown, you don't want this color. ... show more

I really like these shoes. They were comfortable and supportive even when I wore them for the first time all day. I'm hoping the velcro doesn't wear out. I wish they had an elastic closure instead.

I’m a flight attendant and on my feet for 10+ hours a day. I’ve been on a 5 year long journey to find comfortable heels that I can wear all day and not have to change into onboard flats. I’ve finally found my holy grail heels! I wore these on a trip and they were SO comfortable, it doesn’t even feel like you’re wearing heels. I instantly bought a second pair. I bought this pair of leather shoes from Dansko thinking I had made a deal, but they wrongly hurt my left foot toes. Not the right, no... just the left foot, isn't it strange? My dominant foot is the right one so it is larger, but I have no problem with the shoe. That does make no sense unless there is a defect. Nothing works to attenuate the pain. I have worn them just a few hours and put a wooden adjustable shoe tree. Nothing. I do not have the sensation the leather will stretch so it is 60 dollars out of the window.
