When I opened the box, I was a little concerned because the shoes looked narrow, but surprisingly, the are roomy enough even for a heavier weight sock without my foot feeling squeezed. If you need built in arch support, these shoes have it. I am used to taking out the insole and replacing it with my custom arch support, but with the Dansko Peony, I didn’t have to. They are lightweight and have a nice cushiony feel, but with some structure built in. I wish they came in a better selection of colors (I ended up with the white), but these will work for me. Also, they come with two different types of shoelaces. One is a flat elastic, which would be a good option if your feet are a bit wider, and the other is a round lace which worked better for me. I wish it had a bigger toe box because the shoe kinda squeezes my foot at the top I end up getting corns on my little toes. As far as walking and cushion they are great, feels like walking on a cloud.

I love these shoes. I had bought a pair at a local dept store but wanted another pair but could not find white with the color I wanted these are the perfect color. I've worn Dansko Pace sneakers for years since they fit me perfectly and need no breaking in. I was ready for a change though, and I gave the Peony a try. I really liked the style, colors, and the option to go hands-free when putting them on, but the toe box was a bit too narrow and they felt a little less cushiony and flexible. I'll have to stick to the Pace but wish the Peony had worked out for me! ... show more
