I walk dogs for a living. I walk between 5 to 20 miles a day. These shoes lasted me 6 months with that amount of use. I did let them get pretty raggedy, though. I finally caved and ordered a new pair of shoes when a hole appeared in on of the toes and they were no longer water proof. They are very comfortable and supportive. They were a bit stiff and heavy when I first got them, but it didn't take long to get used to them. My previous pair were actually too light, so a period of acclimation is normal. I didn't get blisters, even when breaking them in. They are warm in coId weather, especially if you double up your socks. I walked many days in below freezing weather, and my feet stayed toasty warm. They are waterproof, without suffocating your feet, or making them sweaty. Maybe because they are waterproof, or maybe because of the color, but they don't show dirt and wear much. They fit perfectly, so they are true to size. I would recommend these shoes. They are a good quality. They are worth the money, especially if you get them on sale, as I did. ... show more

I hate when reviewers rate a thing right after they get it. But I am going to do that now! In searching for, non slip, wide, walking shoes with arch support and water resistant, I ordered several brands and returned them. I told myself they had to feel comfortable, from the moment I put them on. These were. I felt my arches had the right amount of support in the right place and my toes could spread and wiggle. These Dansko outdoor sneakers ticked all the boxes. They are wide enough for me, but yet at Euro size 38 (7.5-8 US) they didn’t make my feet look large, but rather petite and compact. I’m not sure how that happened. My usual size is 7.5W or 8W. They felt like the Dansko clogs I used to wear with plenty of room and support. They are a bit heavy and stiff, but they will soften to conform to my foot in time and for me there are no hot rubbing spots at all. They squeak a bit from the non slip soles on some surfaces, but I don’t mind. I write this having worn them for the first time at a marathon Costco shopping trip and never thought about my feet once. Amazing. I’ve worn Dansko clogs and a pair of walking ballerinas for years and the quality has been consistent. Now I have no excuse not to walk in all weather this winter. ... show more

These shoes fit perfectly and are comfortable right out of the box. I’m on my feet all day and these provide the arch support and footbed firmness for my pronation. The toe box is wide enough to not irritate my bunions. They are great for walking too. I will often walk 5 miles a day in addition to being on my feet all day and my feet stay happy. I wear a 39 in the dansko clogs and a 38 in the paisley. I already have 3 pairs in different colors. So fun! I highly recommend. ... show more

    • Worth every dime for me, arthritis in feet BUT READ UPDATE AT END

First know that $160 for a pair of shoes/sneakers is ... well ... A LOT for someone like me. That said, I have Lyme Arthritis in my feet (after treatment and PT); walking is painful. Best up to now has been Oboz hikers which have outstanding support and a firm stiff sole. LOVE Oboz but problem is - they don't look the greatest for every day, and I've tried countless other shoe/sneaker possibilities with no success. NOW FOR THE PAISLEY - it checks all the boxes for me and looks a bit better with jeans and every day clothing. After reading the reviews here, I ordered on the bigger size (and wide) -- perfect. At first they felt a bit "flat footed" like wearing the Dansko clogs I wore for years, so I added an Oboz brand insert I happened to have (again, perfect) - these didn't take up too much room in the toes and added a smidge more stability, arch support, and a little cushioning (which the Paisley definitely needed). I am very excited to use the Paisley. Some of the reviews mention that they break down quickly, or that the stiff sole loosens up - I am hoping not. Since the shoe is new to me, I will absolutely update this review in a month or so if these things happen or if they are not as comfortable as they are today in the living room. UPDATE: several weeks later, I am still loving these Danskos, and I've purchased another color. My only concern is that (hard to explain) my heels in both pair are already starting to lean outwards, and this has never been a problem for me in other shoes. It's not the soles wearing, it's the maybe "integrity" of the material used for the upper part of the shoe. Being leather, you'd think the material would be more, well, sturdy? but I've probably worn each pair maybe a dozen times and it is almost feeling like a safety issue. Again, I've never had a pair of shoes do this, and it's happening to both the black suede and the blue smooth color. Perhaps this was a huge investment for 2 pair of these if they are going to "turn outwards on the heels" so quickly. ... show more

    • Great Shoes But They Don’t Last Like They Should

They’re incredibly comfortable and fit great! The only negative is that they’re the first pair of Dansko’s that I’ve gotten that haven’t lasted even a year before breaking. The inner heels have worn down and are now irritating against my skin.
