I purchased these shoes because I needed travel shoes for winter. I need shoes with a wide toe box. These fit beautifully (very comfy, good support, don't need to be "worn in"), even with thick wool socks. I was worried that the sole is a little elevated and I can be a little unstable on my feet, but stability is not a problem at all. These shoes are very well made and I feel like they're going to last a really long time. Even the velcro on the strap is very secure. Well worth the price.

I am enjoying these shoes! I like a close-toed sandal that is not too flat or too tall. My feet are quite wide across the toe, but my heals are more narrow. I find it runs a little large--nice roomy toe, but big at the heel. I am trying out some heel grips to help when I don't wear socks. The shoe hugs my arch pretty well. I will say that the no-show footies do show a bit on the sides, but not enough to bother me. I am a pretty true size 7, so if you're not wide across the toe, you might want to size down.

In US womens I'm size 8W due to my wide toe box. In Dansko, it depends on the shoe for me: in some size 38 fits best and in others I'm 39. For these adorable mary janes, given the toe shape and the reviews, I went with 38. So glad I did because they fit perfectly. 39 would have been too big. The insole is also just right for me too: firm and stable with good arch support, with a bit of cushioning on top for added comfort. The velcro closure ensures that I can get the perfect fit. We'll see how long it holds. The honey color is gorgeous. So much so that I shelled out the full price, even though the brown version was $40 cheaper. My only semi-gripe is that the buttery soft honey colored leather (which again, I paid full price for) arrived with a scuff. Though I understand that's exactly what leather conditioner is for, I can probably count on having to smooth out scuffs often in these. Haha, but I'll do it!

Updated, final review …. I almost got rid of these things, but I am so glad that I didn’t. Admittedly they were clunky and I tripped before I got used to them. After several months of “breaking in”, they are my FAVORITE shoes. I wear them during summer without socks, and winter with socks. With dresses, with pants. Whatever. They are my perfect plantar fasciitis shoe. The best that I have. Helps my hip too. I guess that same hip had bursitius(?). I just feel so much better when I wear them. Going to buy some Danskos booties for the winter. These are the best for this 43 year old teacher. I wear the strap good and snug now. ————————————- First review before breaking them in: I’m not sure what I think of these crazy shoes. They are definitely different than what I expected, and I’ve never had shoes like this before. I am dealing with plantar fasciitis. The arch support is great. They are so darn hard. I don’t know if my foot is in them correctly. Apparently your heel is supposed to move freely, up and down, so the shoe shouldn’t be tight on your foot. I wish I had gotten a size bigger, but I stretched the one shoe for my weird foot, and it is working ok now. They really aren’t that comfortable. But at the end of the day, my bad foot isn’t hurting, and neither is that bum hip on the same side. Not sure if it is coincidental. Time will tell and then I will update. If he helps my foot, I will be elated! The red was beautiful. Definitely not flexible. Scuffs Easily. Very heavy. They are kind of clunky and feminine at the same time, which is what I’m going for. I had recess duty today and they held up to the dirt pretty well. I don’t love walking in these things. But... they might be working for me. Interesting. My feet feel protected in them. Really good for standing, I think.

These shoes are very comfortable and are my new favorites if I know I will be on my feet all day or walking on rough or uneven terrain. The Velcro closure is strong and durable. They look neat and presentable. I am a size 8 and the 7.5-8 fit well, even slightly loose. I wear these with low cut peds and they look and feel great. Highly recommend.

I am a long-time Dansko fan. I was in the market for a pair of "clogs" that were not so clog-like looking, to wear with a skirt or dress. These seem to fit the bill. I normally wear a 8.5/39 in Danskos. These seem to fit larger than my others (Dankso "professional" clogs). Perhaps I should have tried going down a half size, but those weren't available, so I'm making do. They also just LOOK really big. It's ok with black tights, as the shoes don't stick out so much with the black on black look. But with a lighter color tight or bare legs, I think I'd end up with a Minnie Mouse look (she's cute, but not the look I am going for myself!) But, like most Danskos: made well, comfortable out of the box, great for long hours on your feet at work, will last forever. UPDATE: Wearing these shoes causes me to build up a ton of static shock, and constantly be zapped any time I touch something metal, especially when I get out of the car. I have never had this problem with any shoes before. It's a constant nuisance and really lowers the value of the shoes for me. I wish there were a fix for the static problem!
