This is a lovely straight razor with a striking blade (the layers look really cool and the shape is fun), a simple leather case, and a leather strop. I don't shave with a straight razor very often, but sometimes it is fun to take the time to prep carefully, lather up, and do it the old fashioned way. You really can't compete with the smoothness, though I have a fairly pointy jaw line and my neck is determined to get nicked, so I mostly do my cheeks with the straight blade. It requires care and patience. So for me shaving with a straight blade is already a bit of a ceremony and I think it is enhanced by a blade that is made to look fancy, even if it is a fairly cheap version compared to many out there. The strop is an important part of a kit like this: the idea is that the tip of the blade gets bent over long before it dulls, and stropping it basically bends it back so it is a proper edge again instead of a fold. You normally don't bother with disposable blades, but it is essential for a permanent blade like this. You strop it many times before you need to sharpen it.

Let me start off by saying I don't have a lot of experience with straight edge razors. I've wanted to learn how to shave like my grandfather did ever since I was a little kid but never actually committed to using a straight razor. I saw this razor listed and on a whim I ordered it. It's made out of a really gorgeous decorative damascus style and it comes in a very nice case with a strop. Out of the box it's fairly sharp, but it wasn't quite sharp enough to shave. I took it to a fixed edge sharpening system and got it to be razor sharp at an angle of 17 degrees. This made it much much nicer to use. I was successfully able to shave my face smooth without cutting myself at least. I did find myself frequently stropping, and the included strop worked quite well. I've tried to shave in the past with straight razors and failed miserably, so just being able to shave without cutting myself is a win in my book. There's definitely nicer razors out there, but I'm pretty happy with it for just using it as something to get started with. However the steel doesn't hold an edge quite as well as I would like, and I do see myself upgrading this razor in the future if I actually stick with straight razor shaving. I think for the price its listed at it's a reasonable value and a good starter razor.

picked this straight razor up for my husband as a Father's Day gift because his old razor had finally seen better days and was starting to rust. I was a bit disappointed with this straight razor. The blade looks nice in photos, but in person the Damascus pattern comes across more like an etched design than something premium. It also was not truly shave ready out of the box. It wasn't exactly dull, but it was not able to actually shave off hairs without extra sharpening first. The included accessories don't do much to improve the package. The strop feels fairly cheap and the handle doesn't have the quality feel I was expecting. The leather sheath is probably the nicest extra included, although even that has a the random company name stamped across it that takes away from the presentation. The razor is usable and the overall set looks decent from a distance, but for the price I expected better fit, finish, and sharpness. There are plenty of entry level straight razors out there, and this one felt pretty underwhelming compared to what the listing suggests.

I ordered this as a gift for my husband, he loves wolves and has tried straight razors in the past, so I thought it would be a nice gift, and it really was a hit with him. This set is amazing quality, like everything about it, the razor comes in a nice leather type pouch in a nice box with a sharpening guide to keep it tip top quality. I like that it's made with high hardness steel. The blade is sharp and he said easy to use. It looks so nice also with the intricate and high quality wolf pattern. It's a very nice set for someone to keep or give as a gift. I would order again, well worth the price.

This straight razor with Damascus pattern is really nice and makes for a really great gift! The Damascus pattern looks really beautiful and the wolf and moon design on the handle is a really cool and unique touch that makes it stand out. It does come with a sharpening guide and a leather pouch for storage which are both really nice inclusions. I will say it was not very sharp out of the box and did need sharpening before it could actually shave well so just be aware of that going in and I would suggest sharpening it first before use. Once sharpened though it was very easy to use and felt really sturdy and well made. Overall a really nice and beautiful razor that is a great gift just make sure to sharpen it up before the first use!

The straight razor arrived on time, as promised, and safely packaged. The razor was packaged nicely in a gift-style box. Wrapped in tissue. .aking thisxa ready to go gift! It is reminiscent of the old style barber shop where you would go get a shave and a haircut. The long leather strap hanging and the barber gives the razor a quick run down the strap to get ready to shave. Leaving the strap out at home would be kind of inconvenient, but this certainly is a professional looking knife and can see my barber using it. The Damascus blade is sharp and the handle, while not overly ornate looks great with the inset wolf and moon. Whether its a gift for someone else or yourself, this razor is a nice addition to your self care routine.

I appreciate the craftsmanship of this kit. The straight razor comes with a handle that it folds into, along with a leather strop. I like design on the spine of the blade and it’s easy to hold and control. I used this shave off a bit of fuzz, but will need more practice before I’m skilled enough to shave my entire face. It gives a very close shave and the edge allows me to be much more precise near my mustache when compared to safety razors and electric shavers. The strop is easy to use and the blade was very sharp out of the box. You’ll want to store this blade away from any moisture.
