Many bike trail guidebooks are helpful, but this one is outstanding. Excellent maps show type of pavement, alternate routes, and facilities at a glance. Lists of museums and other sites prove this trip is much more than biking, so don't plan to average more than 40 miles/day. Lists of hotels and places to eat are essential. The spiral binding avoids breaking the spine. It's been worth the price already, a month before we hope to leave. Enjoy! ... show more

Pricing was ok but when product arrived not quite as advertised...tears on DJ top and bottom. I would have rated the book Good at best because as i use it i find the DJ spine tears stick to the spirals.

While the book is well organized, the details in its write-ups lack enough information to make this a go to guide. Most disappointing is the lack of street level detail of the bike route at key intersections. Unless the trail itself is outfitted with great directional signage, I can easily see getting off track if this book was my main resource for navigation. Additionally, while the book lists many nearby sites to visit and accommodations, for all but a few gives little data to pique one's interest to investigate further. ... show more

This guide was useless for my needs. I am planning a camping bikepacking trip on the Erie Canal. This book does not have a list of campsite, only commercial campgrounds. It makes a vague mention of 17 hiker/biker campgrounds but no mentionnof them on any maps. Worse, the maps have no mile marker locations nor do the attractions lists.
