  • Perfect for those looking to carry a lot of tools, and still be organized. Rugged, dependable, comfortable.
Style: Backpack
If you need to carry a lot of different tools, this is the pack for you. I'm a facilities and operations manager for a housing complex with 1000 residents. 23 buildings, 322 units, 994 bed and baths. Our buildings are 4 floors, so I was looking for something to eliminate the need for back and forth trips. I may have taken it to the extreme, but I had it packed full. It weighed almost 100 lbs, but I was able to hold a 20 volt Dewalt drill, spare battery, charger, the small organizer it comes with, full screwdriver set, electrical tools, meters, hand tools, 2 1/4 inch socket sets, hammer, pry bars, file set, and the list goes on. The only thing I couldn't fit were my gauges, but they would have fit if I didn't it full of everything else. The straps are comfortable, and eliminate fatigue if you have a lot of travel between work areas. The exterior is quite durable, and though it is not rated as being water proof, my pack saw a lot of rain and snow, and I never had an issue with water intrusion on the inside. Improvements I would like to see would be a molded bottom, as I had a lot of weight it was not very stable, and every time I would open a pocket, the whole thing would fall over, but that is a very minor inconvenience. Also, even if just plastic, a little reinforcement under the back padding would be nice, if the tools in the back compartment shift they will poke you. Again, just a minor inconvenience to organize better. In the end, travel was my bags demise. I had to drop the weight to fly, the first 3 trips it was mint and so were my tools. Then the airline lost my bag, flew it around the country, and had to Fed-Ex it back to me. Upon arrival the organizer was smashed to pieces, the exterior was torn to pieces, tools were missing, the straps were broke. It looked like it went through a wood chipper. The bag is extremely durable, but not invincible. I am on here to buy another, and thought I would write this. If you have a lot to carry, highly recommend. The elastic pouch on the inside will hold a laptop, I carried mine for months, just get a hard cover for it. The picture will show everything I took out of the bag when I had to reduce weight to fly, minus the hammer drill. I had the bag for a year before it met its demise, without a stitch coming undone. I put this bag through the ringer, so if you have any questions, feel free to ask. TIP: when you receive it brand new, it will be very rigid. I recommend over-packing it and zipping it shut, and leaving it sit for a day or two so the fabric loosens a little. ... show more

  • Too many impractical Pockets
Style: Backpack
I have been looking at various tool back packs for some time to upgrade by current CLC 44 pocket bag. For the 44 pocket I had to make my own wrench pouch with backing board which worked well but the back pack overall was to cramped for the tools I need to carry. This new 75 pouch bag looked great in photos with the inclusion of wrench holders and was the selling point for me. On receiving this back pack I was impressed with the construction and all the options that it offered but soon became disappointed when loading my tools. There were enough wrench slots for my set 3/4 down to 5/16 set and sufficient slots for my screw drivers. There are too many pockets with flaps and not enough blade type slots, or elastic slots that are too high for handles to stay inside the bag. To overcome this I tucked the flaps into the pockets and put my nut drivers, hex wrenches, adjustable wrenches & slip joint pliers into these. The regular pliers, side cutters and wire strippers all fit into the non flapped pockets. I then found that I had used all the big pockets so that full rolls of insulation tape & thread seal went one roll per pocket in the others. The included plastic compartment box is very handy and replaced a couple of the previous candy tins I had been using for wire nuts & ferrules. The big let down though is that the bag does not have any type of feet or protection on the bottom. The old 44 pouch pack had some feet in each corner and helped to protect the base of the bag. I think this is a major oversight of the manufacturer. Obviously they are trying to keep the price of the back pack at a reasonable level to stay competitive. I have been looking around and may add these myself as I have done in the past. There is no doubt that this bag is not is cramped as the old one and I have managed to load it to make it work for me. There are a lot of small pouches unused along with the elasticized slots and the little one inch deep slots are totally impractical for me. ... show more

  • Lots of organization. Doesn't have a Heavy Duty base.
Style: Backpack
Pros: *Lots of storage. *Decent price. *Good for light duty use like school or office but not for tools. Cons: *Does not have a heavy duty plastic base like tool backpacks. *Bottom of backpack will get dirtier, get wet, and wear out faster than tool backpacks with a plastic base. *I tried it as a tool backpack but it did not suit that use so I sent it back. ... show more

  • Looks Good. Lots of capacity and pockets. Holds your tools(Kinda).
Style: Backpack
[HVAC USE] I like the bag but there could be improvements. For a student of a trade learning program on a budget, this would be good for you. Lot of others will say you have to make the most of this bag you can with your own improvements. I believe that to be true as it has a lot of pockets but also a lot problems. I am able to fit a good amount of my smaller tools in this bag AND my impact with a spare battery and bits. It has a nice pocket for documents in the first zipper along with a place to put my multimeter and drill bits case. Next pocket(Middle) is going to be the downfall. It has a great amount of pockets but also some annoying deviders and covers as if im supposed to be carrying a bunch of walkie talkies or tape measures. I'm at most able to fit 10 tools that are slim by tucking the velco covers into their respective pockets and fitting things such as my pliers, crimpers, wire cutters, channel locks, and a few odds and ends but not much else as I would have to start cutting the sewn thread holding the pockets to fit anything much bigger. the last pocket fits all my screwdrivers and socket wrenches just great albeit a bit tight. The shoulder straps are pretty well built and should last a few years you don't throw it around. You will not find much better than this for the price range. Summary: Good for students or fresh inductees for trade work. Current techs might wanna get a Veto Pro Pac as you already know they are suited for most trades and built to last. ... show more
