These sponges are nice but they dry out quickly and get hard. I don't think they're necessary in my everyday cleaning process.

This sponge duster works best if you are cleaning small objects that are not very dusty. If you try to dust a large area or a very dusty small area, the sponge quickly saturates with dust. When that happens, it just pushes the remaining dust around like a snow plow instead of sticking to the sponge. The sponge requires frequent cleaning when this occurs to remain effective. I tried it on the screen of a small TV and found that you cannot change direction in the middle of the screen because that leaves a dusty patch where you reversed direction. When you wet it to clean or just to get started, it is relatively easy to squeeze enough water out, so that you don’t leave a damp trail when you continue. I thought it was pretty effective in cleaning the dashboard of my car, so it has applications but probably is not the proper tool for general cleaning.

I dust my house weekly and gave this little guy a try this week. It comes pre damp, but did not leave a film ore residue on any of the surfaces. I like how easy it was to rinse and ring out, the dust came right off. It worked really well on baseboards and dusting those. On some of the tables it did leave a little dust at the end of a wipe. I will use these for cleaning the fronts of appliances. I have black appliances and a lot of the cleaning towels I have tend to leave streaks. With these I have not had steaks left behind when I wipe it down. I assume that will go for glass or mirrors, which I have not tried yet. If I have an issues with glass materials I will add an update to my review.

This works well on hard surfaces to remove dust. Easy to use just run under water, wring out excess moisture and wipe. I like the idea another reviewer had of using soapy water to do double duty when cleaning surfaces, but I'm not sure how that will affect the material over time. Rinse the sponge again under water to remove the dust. This will save on paper towels and duster refills.
