  • Came open in the box...
Style: 32GB Kit (2x16GB) Size: 32GB
This RAM came open in the plastic case- the one you usually have to work hard to get open that is in direct contact with the memory. Just visually looking over the memory modules (I ordered a 64GB pack, so got 2 32 GB sticks of RAM, but in the same plastic container) they seem fine, I don’t see anything damaged. However if they were returned I should know that UP FRONT. Also, there’s no reason for the packaging to be open the way it is. I’m going to try this out and see if these function as they should. I ordered Crucial RAM several years back for this same machine and it’s worked all this time without issues. Not so confident in this, given how it was packaged. For a product costing nearly 200 bucks, insecure, pre-opened packaging is absurd. ... show more

  • seems to be an exceptional value
Style: 32GB Kit (2x16GB) Size: 32GB
So far this seems to be an exceptional value. Cheaper than even OWC RAM with is of course cheaper than Apple RAM. I put 2 sticks in my Mac Pro 2013 leaving room for 2 more I plan to buy soon. One thing..the pair I received was on a black board not a green one like i the product photo. I'm happy because it looks better in the Mac Pro than gaudy green. UPDATE: So I received the second pair today..10 days later..I even clicked on my old order and selected "Buy it again" so I know I did nothing wrong BUT..This pair, identical specs and product number is on a green circuit board not a black one like the first pair????? Seems to function well so far. But I guess this dashes my hope of them being from the same run as the other. No issues so far. ... show more

  • Affordable RAM for your MacPro
Style: 32GB Kit (2x16GB) Size: 32GB
On 2013 I bought a MacPro as I started doing professional editing from home. As it was a significant investment and quite pricey, I couldn't spec up to the max, so I only put 16 GB of RAM. With time and more extensive use of my Mac, I had to upgrade the RAM. As most of us know the memory bought at Apple is a bit expensive, so after some research I found the Crucial kit, which is also officially supported by Apple. Saitchbrhe memory on the MacPro was a breeze, and no setup needed. Even the packaging was excellent and secured for the long trip. I have to more slots ready to accommodate more RAM, and that goes on my wish list. ... show more

  • Great Ram Upgrade for MAC Pro late 2013
Style: 32GB Kit (2x16GB) Size: 32GB
I've been a PC person since the days of the 8086 processor, maybe even a little before that. I finally switched to MAC, and I love it...don't know why I didn't switch sooner. Anyway, I bought new a Macbook Pro, and the a MAC Pro. I decided to upgrade the ram on my MAC Pro, and decided to use second party Ram instead of Apple Ram (just too expensive), So, I bought this Crucial 32GB mem upgrade, and I couldn't be happier! It's totally compatible, and works like a charm. I've been pushing my new MAC now for a few weeks, at 100%, and the new ram is is performing without a glitch. It was easy to put in, and has not given me a problem at all. I highly recommend this upgrade. ... show more

  • I truly wished it would work.
Style: 32GB Kit (2x16GB) Size: 32GB
I really wanted to like this product and have it work. I have a default 4x4GB = 16GB setup, removed those four sticks, and used this new pair in slots 1 and 2 (16x2) to achieve 32GB of RAM total. The performance *drop* is jaw-dropping and mind-boggling. Even dragging windows or opening tabs in Safari now causes considerable lag and choppiness. RAM is appropriately showing up in the "About this Mac" menu and submenus as 32GB total with the individual components working ("OK"). The Activity Monitor picks up only slow amounts of RAM and CPU usage. In other words, the free memory is there, but not being utilized. I am NOT a computer novice -- I have two degrees from MIT, and have been using and upgrading high-end macs since 2002 (PowerMac G5). If I could not troubleshoot the issue in less than a couple of hours, then this is not a product worth my time. I have used Crucial products before with great success, and have a great affection for this company. If there are any tips to address why this may be user error rather than product failure, I will change my review in a heartbeat. ... show more

  • Excellent Upgrade for New (model 2013) Mac Pro
Style: 32GB Kit (2x16GB) Size: 32GB
I ordered 4 x 16GB (64GB total) for my 4 day old Mac Pro as I found the 3 x 4GB (12GB total) that comes in the base model 2013 new Mac Pro lacking. Memory installation was not as easy as with my previous 2010 model Mac Pro. It took me several tries to get it properly seated. I have to say it snaps in harder than expected. In previous Mac Pros I have used either Kingston or Crucial memory, usually dependent upon the price difference. I had to really think on spending the $750 Crucial vs. $655 Kingston. I opted for the (better IMO) Crucial memory. For the next several years, I won't have to think about upgrading my Mac Pro. ... show more

  • I'm very happy with the purchase
Style: 32GB Kit (2x16GB) Size: 32GB
Ordered this set to replace the stock 4x4GB (16GB) that came with my Mac Pro 2013 Quad-core cylinder. They went in perfectly, no problems, in slots 1 and 2. Booted up the first time, haven't had a single problem in three weeks of steady 24x7 uptime. I was skeptical of Crucial, because I've had compatibility issues with PC-based Windows hardware. But that was with non-ECC memory, and Asus motherboards typically. This ECC memory kit works perfectly with my Mac Pro, I'm very happy with the purchase. Price was pretty good too, and Amazon got it delivered to me overnight for just $3.99 uncharge with my Prime membership. It's all good. ... show more

  • Needed to repeat installations a few times before all four works.
Style: 32GB Kit (2x16GB) Size: 32GB
Like many other reviewers, I purchased 2013 Mac pro with 16GB ( 4x4 ) and two of this to have 64GB ( 4x16 ). Installation on Mac pro was easy, but only two of them were recognized at the first time installation. I had to repeat re-installations a few times before all four are recognized. I guess the memories had poor electrical contacts at the beginning. They have been working as expected and I saved approximately $300 compared to buying 64GB Mac pro from Apple. ... show more
