  • Skeptical at First — Way Better Than Expected

There isn’t any info out there on this brand so naturally it makes you a bit skeptical but the [break] cue seemed like it was made with decent materials so I took a shot — and I’m glad I did. (I saw previous reviews where the tip would fall off so I had super glue ready, just in case.) I’ve had it for about a month now. I play twice a week and I’ve had no issues with it at all, it’s straight and it’s well made — doesn’t sound cheap. The guys in my league have their nice, big -name branded break cues and breaking with this break cue honestly almost feels like breaking with theirs. The break is consistent, it feels solid, and a good spread is effortless. It’s a no-wrap cue but I prefer a grip on my break cues so I bought a heat-shrink tubing wrap and it works well (see image). Two negatives: 1. “Uniloc” joint isn’t compatible with real Uni-loc joints. The joint pin on this break cue is a little too long for the real Uni-loc. 2. You can’t adjust the weight — the butt end cap leads to plastic (see image) but it still has screw threading in case you break with an extension. Overall: Crazy value and quality for the money — and it comes with joint protectors. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. APA 6, not a pro, but no slouch either. Been using bargain basement maple for 3 years that have since warped. Tried a cheap ASKA and a McD Lucky (their entry level), but both arrived wobbling on the rail test. Unacceptable. Returned those and had low expectations for this one based on price, but I am pleasantly surprised. * Straight as an arrow out of the box. Does not wobble at all on the rail roll test. * Tip: It's multi-layered leather. Diameter ~12.9. I see others saying it's hard as a rock but mine is not. I played with an UltraSkin Pro (softest he sells) on my old stick, and have x-soft, soft, medium and hard tips from various brands on house sticks. This tip I would rate on the soft side of medium. It hits soft, holds chalk well, and (re)shapes very easily indicating a soft. * Joint: Diameter is very close to the major manufacturers standard ranges (21.5 to 21.6). Measuring to the 100th of a mm is difficult to repeat even with accurate calipers so I posted pics of the "range" depending on where I placed it and how tight. Screwing together is easy, quick and it locks firm and stays put. As a bonus, it comes with joint protectors already on it. * Shaft: Smooth, slides great on bridge hand (I do not wear a glove), and no blemishes. No residue came off on my hand as I've heard some other CF cues do when brand new out of the box. * Taper: It's listed as a pro taper, but the taper starts at the tip. It is progressive though, meaning the taper at the tip is very modest and accelerates further up the shaft (which is probably why they are calling it a pro taper), but definitely not the exact same diameter for first 12". There is no consistent standard for this though, as some manufacturers listing pro taper also have a progressive taper whereas others are truly completely the same thickness up the first 12 or so inches. * Butt: Unlike the shaft, the butt is clearcoat so it is grabby and does not slip in your hand. The crosshatch design is not a "grip" as it's underneath the clearcoat and is aesthetic only. It is holographic and changes appearance based on the angle and lighting. It is not distracting though and an interesting/unique feature. I personally hate actual grips on a cue, so this was exactly what I wanted. * End Cap: The cap is threaded and screws on and off easily. The web site says it's "air cushioned", I do not know what that means, but the end cap is not flimsy and is hard rubber, in fact, it might be a tad bit too hard when setting down on the floor. Most rubber cap ends bounce off the floor. This one doesn't bounce. * Weight: It comes shipped with all 3 weights so it arrives at it's heaviest. It has a removable sticker on it stating 20oz. I prefer light cues, so first thing I did was remove all of them (and the stickers too). Easy to do, decent design. You could add your own weights in there if you prefer heavy or want a break stick. * Balance: This category is personal preference but this stick feels neutral balanced, not too heavy at the tip and not too light as to get whippy. The center of gravity is in the same range as my other sticks (see pics), and it took me literally no time to adjust to the stick and make shots. Balance can be adjusted based on butt weight. With no weights installed, description says it's 18oz and that feels about right in comparison to my other 18 and 19oz sticks. * Feel: Hits soft, which I prefer. It does not make cracking or pinging or annoying noises that my maple sticks sometimes make depending on the strike. It's very very quiet and more of a low pitched thud. Feedback is somewhat muted as opposed to maple, with very little vibration up the cue on either well struck or miscued shots. This is one of the primary differences between CF and wood. Some like it, some don't. Personal preferences. * Quality/Durability: Cannot speak for durability yet (i.e. joint/screw longevity, warpage over time, finish wear, tip longevity), but out of the box, it feels like a quality well built stick that should have cost much more. After a month of play, I am more consistent with this stick especially on full table shots with fewer head scratching (where did that come from) misses. No complaints yet. ... show more

  • Great jump cue, Tip is only downfall so plan to replace it right away.
Style Name: CJC01
Awesome jump cue, would recommend to anyone looking for a carbon jump cue at a very reasonable price. The reviews regarding the tip are accurate so that's the only bad about it. Mine broke off and I replaced it with a C4 jump/break tip and It makes cross table jumps effortless. Looks great, and plays great! ... show more

  • Very happy. Exploding breaks
Style Name: CBC01
My old wood break cue flexed alot on breaks. I always wanted a carbon fiber break cue but I'm not going to spend $800. I saw this one and thought I'd try it and hoping for the best being it is so inexpensive. It arrived yesterday. It looks really good. Carbon butt has no markings or dumb name printed on it. Just clean carbon. Shaft is very smooth and very stiff. Tip is hard and holds chalk well. When breaking it explodes the balls. So far 1 day in. 20 breaks. I am very happy with it. ... show more

Received this and the weights in the base rattle with every shot. When tightening, the threads are busted & just keep spinning. Really bummed about this

Best bang for the money and the carbon material looks awesome and shoots great. You can dial In your preferred weight too. The shaft glides smooth and no need for a glove or power chalk etc. great pricing as a kit or cue stick alone. This que stick feels better than my $$$$$ pricey collection and got 4 sticks with 2 being the pure black carbon fiber look and is my go to stick. ... show more
