The thickness of the sole helps protect your knees from pressure but it’s not soft at all just feels like a typical slide. I really love these Crocs and am giving a full, honest, review. Now, I am a solid 7.5 in shoes and have a wide foot and issues with one foot being wider due to an old injury and have a heel spur on the same foot however, with Crocs you need to keep in mind yes, they do run large. If you are a half size you need to downsize, if you up size they will be too big. They also run wide. I take a size 6 in various Crocs and stated I am a 7.5 wide. The fit is perfect and these do not rub the sides of my feet nor the top arch. The cushion is very good on the soles and provide comfort for my spur in my heel. Crocs last a very long time and I find after a good year of every day wear that the bottom loses it's grip a tad but they are worth it. Also note that after these age, they do stretch out and get a bit longer and that's one of the only reasons I purchase new ones, especially in the flip flop style. Once they stretch out longer they can fit a size larger so by that size I am a 7.5, purchase a 6, once stretched they would fit someone size 8: easy to pass to a friend or family member once that happens. I wanted a house shoe to wear all year. These are not house shoes but I use them for that purpose. I wear a size 10 women ; They are a tiny bit too large. 9 half would been perfect. The company does not sell half size. They are light weight, has some arch support, & easy to slide my foot in / out. I’ve been looking for a more supportive quick on and ofd slide for when I talk the dog or am just running outside. These immediately felt like what I was looking for. Incredibly comfortable but sturdy. I bailed on Oofos for the lack of stability. The crocs have the arch support and the ankle/heel cushion and support that I needed.
