We bought the critter shampoo for small pets because we have two guinea pigs. Guinea pigs aren't in her dirty, but we found out that in order to keep their fur from knotting sometimes, or even just to keep them extra happy, they need baths once in a while. So, after a seriously large search for the right product, we settled on this. I cannot say enough good things about this shampoo! First off, when the bottle arrived at the house, it was well packaged and there was no leakage from it. We have experienced this problem many times in the past when having a liquid delivered to our home, but this was sealed very well and there were no problems. Second, we settled on this product due to its safety for guinea pigs, and most small animals, after doing a lot of research on each product we were considering, outside of Amazon. This one was not only highly rated for animal safety, but it also supposedly had a decent smell, according to other reviews, so it was safe for both animal and human nostrils alike! The amount of shampoo that was in the bottle, brand new, was amazing. It's not often you get bottles of shampoo, conditioner, or heck, even drinks, full anymore, let alone for animals. So, based on how much we paid for it, and the size of the bottle, the value for the money is actually really good! When we washed the guinea pigs, they did not seems to be irritated by this shampoo, and since it doesn't overly sud (just the right amount of the directions are followed), none got into their eyes or ears either, when washing around those areas. This is a product that I will recommend going forward. If you have small animals and need a bottle of shampoo to wash them with, this is your product. ... show more

I use this shampoo on my ferret, and it works really well! It’s gentle on his skin and doesn’t cause any irritation. His fur feels soft, clean, and not overly dry after bath time. A little goes a long way, and the scent is light—not too strong.

It's awesome! Absolutely no fragrances, unlike all of the other small animal shampoos I've used. Lathers well, doesn't irritate piggy's skin, rinses well, and leaves them smelling pleasant and feeling soft.

I write this review with a touch of sadness. We began buying this shampoo when one of our Guinea pigs was no longer able to keep herself clean because of her age and health condition. The shampoo was mild and effective, and it provided her comfort in the later stages of her life. We would put her in a large bowl of warm water. She would hang onto the edge with her paws so that her head and shoulders were out of the water. We put shampoo in the water and washed her hind quarters. This felt good to her. She would make a purring type of noise indicating that she was comfortable. We went through a couple of bottles. We are grateful that this product made our piggie feel better. ... show more
