Be sure not to overlook the batteries that go into the handle to power the LED! I ordered a used one. The tools all look brand new, but the packaging was kind of torn up & I didn’t see the batteries. Once I found them, and got them installed, the light works perfect. Nice tool kit!

I’ve used a lot of Craftsman tools over the years, and this screwdriver set lines up well with what I’ve come to expect from them. The overall build quality feels solid right out of the box. It comes with a really broad selection of bits—everything you’d typically need for working on electronics like phones and laptops. In total there are 50 pieces, including some Apple-specific bits, along with a 1/4" to 4mm adapter, a magnetic extension, and the usual mix of flathead, Phillips, hex, Torx, and more. The magnetic feature is a nice touch and helps keep things in place while you’re working. The built-in LED light is what really sets this apart. It does a great job lighting up the work area, so you’re not fumbling around or trying to position a separate light source. Getting the batteries installed took a little figuring out. It uses three LR44 button cells (which are included) that you load into a little separate sleeve and then insert the sleeve into the flashlight, but a quick note of instructions would have saved some time and trouble. Also worth mentioning: it uses a locking collet system. You have to slide the sleeve forward to insert a bit, then let it snap back to secure it. Not complicated once you know, but it wasn’t immediately obvious. It also would have been helpful to have some instructions describing the locking collet. Finally, the carrying case is exceptionally well designed. It has a sliding spring latch and real hinges that are also spring loaded – not just plastic strips that will tear. It should be very durable. All things considered, it’s a well-thought-out set and a solid pick if you do a lot of small electronics or precision work. I will use these for repairing and refurbishing mobile phones and laptop computers.

This particular screwdriver set maintains Craftsman's reputation for quality, distinguished primarily by a built-in three-LED light that effectively illuminates small fasteners and eliminates the need for a separate flashlight. While the kit conveniently includes the necessary LR44 batteries, installing them is so frustrating that I was thinking about giving up on the whole package. There are no instructions, and no manuals online, and I had to figure it out with the help of another reviewer's notes. Firmly depress a rear button while pulling the back section loose to access a battery sleeve. Additionally, the recessed on/off switch is small enough to require a fingernail to operate; however, this design choice successfully prevents the light from being turned on accidentally while in storage. The tool’s mechanical design is equally thoughtful, featuring a push-to-release sleeve that locks bits securely in place. While the screwdriver lacks a ratcheting function, it features a free-rotating rear knob that allows the user to apply steady pressure while turning the handle. The set is housed in a heavy-duty plastic case secured by a user-friendly, spring-loaded sliding latch. One minor drawback is that the internal bit storage slots lack a friction fit, meaning the bits can fall out if the open case is tipped. Fortunately, each spot in the wide assortment is clearly marked to ensure bits are returned to their proper locations. Once I got over the frustrating battery installation (it takes a lot of force to do it the first time), it was a good tool that stows away easily and is versatile in the assortment of bits.

This is a great little kit overall. The built-in LED light really sets it apart from other precision kits in the same price range and is genuinely useful when working with small or detailed components. Once it’s up and running, the light adds a level of convenience and visibility that I haven’t seen in many comparable kits. That said, it did take a bit of trial and error to get the LED light working right out of the box, which was slightly frustrating during the initial unboxing. After figuring it out, though, everything functioned as expected. Overall, it’s a well-designed, practical kit that offers excellent value, with the LED feature being a standout addition.

This is going to sound petty but why are the bit holders a hard-ish plastic? I found that one of my bits I somehow inserted on an angle won't come loose when I returned it to a free spot in the kit. Sorry, getting ahead of myself. My initial impressions of this tool kit were good. I have other Craftsman products, and this feels like it's in line with the rest of their lineup. The LED flashlight within the screwdriver is bright, easy to turn off, and I'm only slightly put off by the watch battery that powers it. It was good for projects with limited lighting and takes the strain out of having to hold up a flashlight with your free hand while you screw (get some of that stability back!) Now, you may think that I am knocking two stars off of this product for incredibly minor things (just put the bit back in correctly, five-head.) Bear with me. I just think that for a screwdriver set (with a nice selection of heads!) that it should be more user friendly. You have the ability to replace the battery as the end user yes, and it comes with the head to do that (yes you need a tool to replace this battery). And why can I get a bit *stuck* in its holding case? Is it to make the driver heads more secure? The overall durability and build is good. There's just some strange choices for making this a great kit.
