  • Great hiker for the price
So far so good. They were really large compared to other brands. I typically wear UA, I'm a size 10 but always have to buy size 10.5 in UA..... these are opposite....I sent size 10 back and ordered 9.5...they were still big. But they are light and decently comfortable and holding up well after a couple months. I work construction and it's always hard to find a decent lightweight shoe that holds up and doesn't break the bank. They aren't as comfortable as most UA shoes/hikers ive owned but not far behind.. The side zip feature is definitely nice, makes slipping on and off a breeze. "Water repellant" is definitely a stretch, but for the price I wasn't expecting much in that area. If the price stays reasonable and I can get a least 6 to 8 months of wear, I will be buying more in the future. UPDATE: After more than a yr of wear, typically 5-6 days a week, these shoes have held up remarkably well. I am beyond impressed. I changed from 4 stars to 5. I have used these for hiking, hunting but mostly for my day to day job of construction. I typically wear them unzipped, unless I'm hiking in them or on a roof/climbing thru trusses. They arent built for long hikes unless the terrain is pretty forgiving. They dont do great on steep hills or rocky terrain, the sole just doesnt have enough cushion for that. But I have done it a few times and have had worse experiences with hikers 2x to 3x their price. But u will not find a better hiker for mild terrain or daily walking/work for the money. My old ones have a couple small holes from working construction, but the ripstop fabric has kept them very small and they're still wearable. I just bought a new pair, but will keep the old ones for yrs to come for jobs like painting or when i need a comfortable pair of shoes for a dirty/messy job. ... show more

  • Feel like slippers, work like boots.
These are some of the best tactical boots there is. I hve alot of boots Bates, Oakley, Free Soldier, Columbia, etc. These are the best performers ever. I can do my martial art routine in them. Very well balanced. The ykk's are best of this brand toe protection., breathability, waterproof, and cmfortable all day. All styles have the same tread and sole design while uper design veries alot. yKK's are the only ones that have good upper toe protection. All styles are great from this brand. I do wish they had a 7 or 8 inch height though. I have encounter minor quality issues on a couple pairs but 95% are very well built. For some reason it took 3 purchases 2 returns with the brown ykk's they seem to all have a defect in the right boot only. My black Ykk's were made perfectly. ... show more

  • CQR: 8 month update
I’ve tried many boots. These are the best. 8 months in Florida heat. Still look & feel broken in, not falling apart like more expensive boots. I use Dr. Scholls heal lifts. The Achilles problem I had before I purchased these boots has not reappeared. My original review is below. 👇🏻 I love these boots ! Style, comfort, & breathability of Under Armour, at half the price. Many reviews stated CQR boots run a little wide. So I purchased size 10, not 10.5. Glad I did. They fit perfectly, with plenty of room in the toe box. Another reason I selected CQR is I have been having an intermittent issue with my Achilles. When I researched tactical boots, CQR advertisement bullets highlighted their ankle support. I did put Dr. Scholls heel lift inserts in my CQR’s. They feel great & I have had no issues with my Achilles while wearing them. The boots needed no break in. The first time I wore them was during four hour Active Shooter Training. The training was in a building with hard surface tile and up & down stairs, which was a true test with my Achilles issue. They performed well. The soles gripped different surfaces well, with no annoying squeaking. Pretty important while tactically hunting and clearing rooms. The ankle support gave me confidence. I was able to focus on my tasks without hesitation. My last pair of Under Armour boots began falling apart at about 5 months. UA are excellent boots, but durability is a fail. I expect to get at least that out of my CQR boots. At half the price, that’s a win. Any durability beyond that is a bonus ! Time will tell. CQR boots may be my new go to tactical boots. ... show more
