Great product. Firm and stable. Easy to assemble. Looks great. Shelves are strong enough to carry a full load of canned foods or bottles of water. The unit is braced in back. Excellent! This was my second attempt at installing shelves in my closet. The first was a Shingay set of shelves that I hated. I found them almost impossible to assemble, the plastic clips holding the shelves kept popping off, and I could not get the shelves to stop wobbling. So I looked around and settled on the CosyStar metal set of shelves, and love it. Highly recommended.

I like a lot of things about this bookcase and I would highly recommend it for the price. First, it is packaged well, and in such a fashion that there should be no damage from shipping. That's important to me, because I hate to have to return a product. Everything was well wrapped and there were no scratches, dents or chips on anything. The second pleasant surprise upon opening the package was that it shipped with a phillips head screwdriver, which was the ONLY tool needed for assembly. I am a homeowner, so I already have tools, but when I lived in apartments it was really important so I wouldn't have to run out and buy or have to borrow a tool. I also like the fact that it only needs the one tool. Thirdly, every bolt, nut and the feet needed were carefully wrapped and packed - with no items missing and no extra items. Either one drives me crazy when I've had it happen with other products. The package also includes straps and wall screws if you want to secure it to the wall, but I felt it was sturdy enough with the feet alone. Assembly was easy. It includes simple to follow visual instructions. I was interrupted several times during assembly, but I estimate the longest it would take to assemble would be one hour. I could do another one in probably less than 20 minutes. The included screwdriver will get the job done, but if you have a ratcheting stubby screwdriver and a driver drill, it will speed up the process. I did most of the assembly with the included screwdriver, but then I ran to the garage to get my driver drill and ratcheting screwdriver to finish things up quickly. I love the cross supports. They very much strengthen the unit. They also add a little bit of flash. The six included shelves can be used any number of ways for spacing, I put mine in as pictured. Finally, the unit upon completion is nice and sturdy, far better than say something from the store that also sells the Swedish meatballs. The shelves look good in my over 100 year old home, but I think this would blend into just about any interior. I'm very happy with it. Highly recommended, especially for the price. People will think you paid a lot more, but that can be your secret!

Update Jan 2026 I have two of these bookcases. They are completely full of books. I thought they were giing to give out from all the weight at some point, but they're still looking great and going strong. Original review: This is a sturdy little bookcase. I am a petite woman and put it together by myself in less than an hour (it could've gone faster, but my 9-year-old son and dog were trying to help). The instructions are very straightforward, and the components are clearly marked. On arrival, the box looked a little beaten up, but the interior packaging was fine. It was well packed! It had a nice styrofoam layer that fit tightly and did not allow the pieces to move within the box. It was easy to put together, and it came with the necessary tool (screwdriver). The leveling feet are a nice touch as my floors are over 20 years old and not that leveled anymore in some sections. Once leveled, it is pretty stable. I only noted one defect, but it mostly aesthetic. Where the top and bottom supports join, they don't align quite perfectly, but you can only see it if you get close (see pictures). However, I don't think this affects the structural soundness of the bookshelf. Other than that, I'm pretty happy with this purchase so far. I've only had it set up for a few days, so I will update my review after using it for a few months.
