We have a high energy super friendly 4 yr old and there are settings where a "leash" safety strap is essential for his safety and my sanity. At 43 inches and 46 lbs, we needed something bigger than a toddler backpack and I wanted it big enough to put a water bottle, snack and maybe even an extra shirt. This backpack fits him perfectly. The leash clip feels cheap. Not sure if it would hold if you were really needing to hold a kid from running. But to simply stay connected or gently guide in a direction this backpack is great. The zippers are decent quality too! My son has no issues opening and closing the backpack himself.

So apparently, I initially bought the toddler bag. My review for that was: “Bag was made of cheap materials. Also, too big for an 18month old. The belt strap in front was too low and it could easily be removed by the kid. I won’t consider buying again.” Then they sent me a message saying that I got that bag when a smaller bag wasn’t available yet. So they sent me the smaller bag this time. Then, I had this small bag review: quality was a star up than the previous toddler bag that I have. It didn’t have the net pocket inside, no leash and no chest strap. Bag size was suitable for my 18mo old. I can fit his ipad, snacks and water bottle inside. Very spacious. I just wish they have this small size bag with the leash and chest strap. That would make it the most perfect leash backpack for toddlers. This company is really something! They really listen to their consumers! When I told them it would be better with a pocket a leash and a cheat strap, they sent me another toddler bag with all the things that I requested to be there. GENIUS! NOW, IT’s THE PERFECT TODDLER BAG! This toddler bag with the leash, inside pocket and chest strap is the perfect toddler backpack to put in toys, snacks, ipad and/or a water bottle. It keeps your kid safe too. This can be used too by kids who are just learning to walk. The placement of the leash is in it’s perfect place. If ever a child would fall over forward, you can catch her with the leash to prevent her from falling in her face (unlike the other bags with harness/leash that i’ve researched on where the leash hook was at the bottom of the bag). The chest strap secures the bag to a very active, always running, jumping, energetic toddler. The inside pocket can be a nice divider for extra clothes snacks and water. With everything that I requested being here, I can now say that I recommend this toddler bag with chest strap and leash 100%.

We purchased this item for our special needs, nonverbal / ASD son. At the whopping age of 2.875992 years old (wearing 4T!!) :] :] this kid has been in therapies since 4 months old. Our Occupational Therapist suggested getting a backpack with a chest strap so he might feel secure... Not only that because he has many sensory issues, especially being spatially aware. Putting something like his 5lb weighted blanket in his pack was my solution vs a bags of beans. Just started this journey with this new "tool" for our toolbox. I rated 5☆☆☆☆☆ because of the overall craftsmanship and it's absolutely adorable! Will add photos at a later date. So far, our son loves this backpack and it is very functional. I bought this for my step son who will be turning 3 in a couple months. It’s perfect for going out and about without worrying he’ll run off and he can carry his own stuff lol. It fits some diapers, wipes, and an extra change of clothes and also has more space to fit a toy. So happy this one came with a leash! 10/10 totally recommend!

Perfect size for my 2yr old. I got the "large" size and still a nice fit for my short guy while being able to hold a standard size school folder... so great for preschool. One of the main reasons I got this particular backback was because it had a top-tethered leash. My dude likes to run, but surprisingly I haven't had to use it. So its extra great at how well its made. My only complaint is that straps don't stay adjusted/tight very well. The adjustable part of the straps is a very smooth nylon so it has almost no grip to stay in place. Not a huge deal since it also has a chest clip to keep it on and from sliding off his shoulders.

The size is great but I don't love where the loop is, I have a runner and mama isn't a sprinter, so this backpack comes in handy. The only thing I don't like is where the loop for the "leash" is. I have a smaller backpack and the leash is at the bottom and I find I like it better there.
