My table arrived with hardware missing from one of the cross-pieces that hold the lift arms. It took a little over a day to get a response from the seller, at which point they gave me a tracking number for, I thought, a replacement part. What arrived was a whole additional table, obviously someone else's return. The return was perfectly intact despite haphazard repacking, and while I still couldn't attach the small support shelf to the first unit, it basically left me with one "table" version and one "desk" version, at the cost of a slightly larger project. It was a wonky experience and obviously reflects some QA issues, but overall the service recovery was there. Assembly is a project. You'd better have a drill, because there are dozens of screws for even one table. You will have to use the skinny screwdriver included in the package to get the lift-arms mounted to the shelves, six small screws per arm (24 total), working around the hydraulic piece. Then mounting the arms to the sides of the frame is tricky and required a flashlight and patience. Honestly they could ship these with the main box assembled and just the legs and bottom shelf detached in a barely larger package. The end result is pretty sturdy, with the exception of the raising/lowering mechanism for the tabletop. The hydraulics really aren't rated for the weight they're carrying, so they wobble on the way up and down, and slam shut the last couple of inches when lowering. I would hesitate to bring this table into a household with children or careless people. Once set up, the tabletop is well supported. The height when lifted is about right for a couch, but lower than a typical kitchen table. The color is less rustic and more just brown, with much less contrast between the "grain" and the base color than in the pictures. Overall, I would call it a decent value for the price. ... show more

Working from home in a tight space can be a hassle, but it's been great to turn my coffee table into a desk on days I don't go into the office. The table is sturdy enough in the open position to hold my laptop, a riser, and an external monitor. Minus the monitor, I'm able to store everything when not in use inside the coffee table. It does what I hoped, and the build quality was better than expected after two months of regular use. My only gripe is it's not gentle with closing - watch your fingers while you guide it down, and use both hands. I'm keeping this thing as long as it lasts for sure. ... show more

Looking for a coffee table, I wanted one that could serve as a desk to work at, provides storage, and folds out into a full functional table. Although some improvements can be made, this table fits most of those needs. The lift section sits at the perfect height so that you are not leaning over or raising your elbows to work. The storage areas are deep enough to hold books, smaller laptops, and random items. The table function seems study so far, but will have to update after a few uses. Improvements: When raising the lift you must hold it from either side or it will twist and strain the mechanism. This will be the primary concern for this table, as if you are not careful, you may pull out the lift mechanisms from the boards. A bar connecting both sides should be added for future versions to increase stability. The storage is adequate for most needs. However, with the secondary lift portion up, you cannot access anything in the storage area very easily. Even with the lift down, it covers slightly over half the storage space. So you have to reach under to access things pushed toward the back. Instructions are adequate. But you have to pay extremely close attention to the placement of the holes in the pictures and the pieces. I had to disassemble everything twice after realizing pieces were on backwards. Marking both the pieces and the pictures with top or bottom identifiers would help customers. Overall, this is still a good table. Fairly inexpensive and a good start for most people needing something small and functional. With proper care, it should last quite a while. However if you don’t need the table function, I would recommend a different table with storage and only a single lift to create a desk. ... show more

Love it. Bought a bigger couch and our old big coffee table took up too much room. This is great solution. Still good size but fits smaller space with good storage for my kids books, the laptop, and extras. Then expanda when you need more table space. Did take hubby a couple times backtracking with setup because instructions could be a bit backward at times. But got it together in a decent amount of time. ... show more

My only complaint is they don't soft close or even have padding where they close. Watch for little ones (and your own) fingers when closing it'll hurt if you slam your fingers when closing it. Otherwise I love it. I love to do Lego while watching TV and this gives me tons of space without having to crotch down to a normal coffee table height. ... show more
