The power supply fan in my home server was getting noisy -- a four-year-old Corsair 600 watt unit. Yeah, I probably could have just popped it open and replaced the fan, but I didn't like the technicolor LEDs built into it, and the power cables, although wrapped, were all hard wired. Searching locally and Amazon, I found this CX750-M that's "semi-modular" -- means the two cables you MUST use are hard wired, and all the other cables (drives, GPU, extra CPU) are plug-or-not. Took me about 20 minutes to install and route the one additional cable I needed (SATA power to the drives) and I booted it back up to hear... almost nothing. Blessed silence once again. since building my pc i’ve come to really love corsair products and this power supply has been my favorite so far. love the option to plug and play with what connectors you want. works great i mean my pc isn’t a beast but it’s got a i5 11400k CPU and a RTX 3060 OC 12GB GPU and haven’t seen any issue. hoping since it’s a low wattage chip that i can easily upgrade to a i7 or i9. should be more than enough for what you need to do in a mid range to high range gaming pc :) ... show more

SO FAR this has been a great inexpensive PSU for my all black build. however, the fan has been making a very noticeable ticking noise that is a little bugging, but not a huge deal. Just keep that in mind, but maybe it was just the one I got.

This Corsair CX650M was bought at discount. It's powering a test bench Gigabyte B550 AX Elite, Ryzen7 5800, and Gigabyte RTX 3070 no problem. When testing done it will go into an intel box. Only con is no second graphic card cable,
