This is a fantastic cooling blanket, especially for the price. I bought the throw-sized version in light blue, and while it’s not quite big enough to use as a bedspread on our queen bed, it is large enough to cover both me and my husband at night if needed. In fact, it’s bigger than most throw blankets I’ve owned — easily big enough for two people to snuggle under on the couch. The cooling effect is real. The material feels comforting against the skin and stays cool even after prolonged contact — something most blankets definitely don’t do. When using it on the couch, it’s easy to flip it to the other side for an extra hit of coolness. It consistently feels cooler than the room or whatever other fabric it’s near. Even my senior dog has claimed it as her favorite — I left the room for a minute and came back to find her sprawled out across the whole thing! Now, here’s the one caveat: this is the slipperiest blanket I’ve ever owned. It’s also deceptively heavy — light and thin, but with a surprising weight to it. I love the slight weight and the light coverage it gives me at night, but my husband doesn’t like an extra blanket. That means I’m trying to keep it on just my side of the bed… which is easier said than done. We’ve had to get creative to keep it from sliding off in the middle of the night. As for color, it’s not a pure light blue — there’s a subtle teal undertone — but it’s soft and pale enough to blend into most decor. Overall, this is a high-quality, well-made cooling blanket that really does what it claims. It’s thicker than a sheet but much lighter than a comforter. And folded up, it doesn’t take up that much space. The slipperiness takes some getting used to, but I’m glad I bought it — and clearly, so is my dog!

Okay, personal story time: I'm autistic and was raised in a northern climate, so I love the bulk and weight of sleeping wrapped up in piles of blankets. Now that I live further south in the miserable heat and share a bed with a partner who also radiates warmth, this makes me a very unhappy camper, and I can't sleep half the time because I either lack adequate nesting materials or I'm sweltering. This summer I finally got a queen-sized cooling comforter for our bed, and it felt wonderful but was lightweight. The addition of this smaller but heavier blanket made it just right for me! This blanket has the noticeable cooling effect of most blankets in this style (pair it with a ceiling fan, cooling pillows and bamboo-fiber bed sheets for maximum effect), but it also has a nice heft to it despite its thinness, and feels like multiple layers of fabric rather than being stuffed with cheap fluff. It feels silky smooth to the touch, and like others have mention it does slide quite a bit if left to its own devices (this is less of a problem for me, since I tend to cocoon in my sleep like the bedding hog that I am). It's mildly annoying, but really the only downside to the product. This size is perfect as an extra addition for folks like me who want the extra bulk at night, or is great for midday naps on the couch when it's just too hot to get anything productive done.

The first day I was so excited because the material made it feel really cool... But after sleeping with it a few nights, it's not really effective. I notice little difference from the regular blanket I use after the first 10 minutes. It if night that both sides cool. If you wake up in the night you can flip it over for a few more minutes of cool.

I thought this item, billed as a comforter and based on the item photo, would be puffier. It arrived in a vacuum sealed bag, and I thought it would be like a mattress, that needs to be released from the vacuum packaging to relax in the air until it gains full volume. This comforter is about 1/4" thick. But I don't mind. It's slippery smooth outside, weighted by the batting inside, and feels luxurious. I'm a little confused though. According to the materials tag, there's a side A and a side B to the cover. Side A is 90% nylon and 10% Spandex, while side B is 100% nylon. Problem with that. I can't tell, by color, elasticity, or appearance, which side is which. They seem to look, stretch, and feel alike. Which side is the outside? Which side should be keeping my skin cool, as the fabric is "engineered" to do? Would side A be my priority, or would it be just the top side? Is there really any noticeable difference? I'm not sure what a 10% Spandex content should provide, nor why there's a difference between sides A and B. Why not just make them both the same? I can't tell if one side is making my skin feel cooler than the other side does, and I've been flipping it over every fifteen minutes for about an hour and a half. But it's a cool night. Maybe I need a hotter night to tell. So I can't attest to the cooling qualities of this blanket/comforter, but I can tell you it feels wonderful anyway. I get thy impression that it might just slide to the floor if I'm having a restless sleep, because of the satiny cover and slightly weighty core, but that hasn't happened yet and I'm enjoying being under this blanket tonight.
