At 72, I wear nothing but Converse because they feel great on my feet! I’ve worn them since the 1970s! Now that I’m “old-ish”, I love the Shoreline style!!! Easy to slip into and nice and comfy! I usually buy directly from Converse, but when I found these on Amazon I thought I’d give it a try. They shipped quickly and arrived on time! Love them!!!

*UPDATE (2021): Still have the black, as reviewed; also still have the white-ish that I got before the black and a silver-grey color I got after. The rubbing on the 'pinky toe' is still an issue (I love to just throw on shoes in summer, no socks. [My Boomer Mom gave up the ghost chastising me for that a looong time ago -lol] and that will cause a red, sore spot on the outside of my little toe within an hour or three. MUST WEAR THE NO SHOW SOCKS with this style.) I have highish arches. If I wear these shoes for a lot of walking or standing, at the end of the day when I take them off I will get a foot cramp as there is zero arch support. I did have to buy a pair of my old brand when my kid ended up in ICU because these are never gonna be 'standing around or pounding the pavement' comfortable. These are cute shoes first. Finally, I wear the white for every day activities. So they need washing a lot. You gotta have some sort of oxi additive and you just about need to soak or they come back yellow. Bleach worsens this, well water (how I started) or county water that is purified with chlorine (where I am now) - the white will yellow without a whitening laundry additive. So I'm down to like a 4 on my review because these shoes are too expensive to be this high maintenance. I've worn nothing but Skechers for 12+ years. Got my first pair of Chuck Taylor Shoreline and was hooked. This was my second pair (my white pair are versatile but I needed black to match the majority of the rest of my wardrobe). Comfortable shoes BUT you will need the Chuck Taylor compatible socks, otherwise you may get a blister on the outside of a toe.

I got these to take on our honeymoon. I had a very set idea about what I wanted to wear during traveling around Europe by air, land, and sea, and comfort was at the top of that list. I wore these with dresses, jeans, and stretch yoga pants, in nine different countries, and in four different types of transportation vehicles. I was comfortable and better dressed most of the time than anyone around me. I will say that I dressed outfits down with these, like a grey body on dress with a chambray top and yoga pants with a loose flowing double layered blouse, but in Europe and the US, it was fine. I never got spoken to in English before the native language, and in Paris, where my husband actually does speak the language fluently, I was spoken to in French when he was addressed in English multiple times (he’s a snappy dresser too, though, so it may just be us...haha.) My feet only hurt one day after an entire day of trekking around Saint Petersburg, where the outside of my left foot rubbed a little raw against the toe box. I attribute this to them being brand new. The all white ended up being a good choice, although there are a few scuffs from luggage and the like. I’m hoping I’ll be able to clean them up, but for the price, it’s okay. I’ll just replace them eventually. At first I hated the elastic back as I went up a size for maximum comfort, it I got used to it and just tightened the laces so they didn’t slip off. It makes for easy slip-on in the morning and slip-off in the evening without ruining the backs of your shoes by folding them down. Overall, I’m super happy with the purchase and highly recommend!
