I have weak ankles. I have had surgery and everything. I have false inserts in my ankles due to some issues from childhood. I also LOL lift weights. So after I tore my hamstring in Dec '22 I was hobbling around and my ankles got weak from all of the med required rest. So as I started to heal and walk more, my ankle issues from childhood came back to haunt me and put me back on the couch. These shoes give me the ankle support I need to be a regular moving person. I can also wear them at the gym as they create efficiency in weight lifting (google that it's real). Plus, they are classic, stylish, but updated with the leather look/feel. My only criticism of these shoes and it's a small one: they creak like an MF. So if you are into stealth or work as a ninja part time these sneakers may not be for you. ... show more

Quality and color was as pictured. Very easy to wipe off if you get them dirty. Great style reminds me of Some I had years ago. Not very slippery like most converse has a good grip and traction. Absolutely no stiffness very loose and good fitting. Depending on how you lace them up

Got these for my daughter and she said they were comfortable from the first time she put them on. They are padded around the ankle (not just thin canvas like other models) and there is a lot of padding in the sole. Very comfortable and easy to wash.

These were my favorite kicks, I wore many years and got many compliments on this style. The rear black side that comes up to the top shoelace holes gives a sturdiness to shoe structure that chuck taylors usually are weak at. I do feel comfy and well supported up to my ankle knob bones. As a chuck fan for near 30 years, these have been my favorite pair. IMPORTANT NOTE - I use very good dr schols or use a good all day long working insole upgrade. I have wideset toes I guess, chucks are the only thing that fit right, but the default insoles are not friendly. ... show more

The shoes are nice and feel good (except for the insoles that are crappy). You will need to buy yourself a pair of insoles from Dr. Scholl's or any of your preference; otherwise, your feed will suffer, that's the reason for the 4 stars.
