I have owned a couple of these. Personally I prefer these tip to drink rather than the straw type models. This is the first one I have had that I would call a water bottle where the sip value opens out for cleaning. I have long seen that feature in what I would call coffee cups from Contigo. There is also a lock for the sip button that was not on previous models I had, and may prevent some leakage. I would discribe those as improvements. Most of the time if I have a leak it is because I have not threaded the lid correctly or tightened it completely. Easy enough to check when putting the lid on. Even if you are getting bottled water for a great price, you are probably spending at least a dollar for five of these. For me that is at least $4/week. Filtering tap water is cheap. It does not take long for one of these to pay for itself. In my area, many places have drinking fountains where you can fill up water bottles for free. I love that I am not contributing to all the plastic waste from bottled water. I prefer the colored bodies over the bare metal because I think it insulates a little better. They say not to carry the full bottle in a bag. I choose to risk it. I find that if I am careful in how I use my Contigo products I get good results. I am disabled, so I do not have my hands free to carry my water bottle or coffee cup. I have previously done this with other brands and I find Contigo much more reliable. However, I am mindful of the risk I am taking and maybe don't put sensitive items like my phone where they are likely casualties if there were an incident. I mentioned the straw style water bottles before. Do not be like me and pop the straw open on an airplane after filling at ground level. I now know you have to unscrew to vent first. Bought this to keep along with me on bike rides, so I could always have cold water, even when biking in the sun. It definitely fits the bill. This thing can sit in the sun on the beach for hours, and the water inside stays cold as if I just poured it from the fridge. I don't use ice in my water, but fill it directly from my water filter in the fridge. Don't need ice with this thing. A bit on the heavy side, but that was expected being that I purchased an insulated metal water bottle. Auto seal works great, and I like the little flip top cover to cover the mouth of the bottle. Carrying ring is sturdy. I left my first bottle somewhere, and couldn't find it, so I promptly bought a second one. ... show more

First, the confusing. Front label (see pic) says this will keep stuff hot for 6 hours, but back label (see pic) says “not for hot” products. So which is it? Thankfully I use mine only for water. That said, we love Contigo bottles. Have had their plastic water bottles for years and they last. If they break, and a couple tops have broken, a call and an emailed pic gets you a replacement for free. Just last month one broke, but it was so ild that the model is no longer made and Contigo sent a whole new bottle! But I hate the fact that these plastic bottles (of any brand), when filled with ice and water, sweat and make a mess in the hot summer. I had one of their earlier models, very similar. It lasted a long time, and I only replaced it because it got pretty banged up from years of daily use. I was annoyed when I found that they did not make that model anymore, but I tried this one and I'm impressed. It has all the same amazing feature of the original, with some new awesomeness added to it. Great quality, keeps drinks cold a long time, very easy and seamless to use. I actually bought this one for a gift for my mother-in-law and she loves it. I first bought one for me a couple of years ago and is my absolute favorite. It keeps the water cold for a long time even in the middle of summer. I love the spout (or whatever it’s called) to get the water out. The little handle is perfect if I need to carry it with my fingers. No straws and easy to clean. I went on to buy one for my husband and each one of my children. Seals very well and the lock is a nice addition, though I rarely use it, as the thermos is almost always with me. Fits pretty well into the cup-holder in my wife's car, too. Love the color and the little loop-hook for carrying. Highly Recommended.
