Description

This book tackles just the one major problem that I had when I first started using Sony's top full frame camera, the A1: how the heck do I get it configured to shoot the way I want to shoot? Thus, you'll find that this isn't a do-all, tell-all, expose-all tome like my other books have been. Nope, this book is a get-out-your-camera and read along to get it set exactly right for your shooting. This book tackles this in some clear steps:Fix some defaultsMake all your one-time settingsCustomize the camera controlsSettle into your basic shooting options (look, focus, and more)Get hooked up to your mobile deviceSave your settings for later retrievalAlong the way you'll deal with things like how Sony's organized the menu system and how to navigate it faster, what the slot options actually do, how to set up back button focus (and some supporting focus button options. as well as picking your initial Focus Area modes), how to get near perfect raw image exposures, and yes, the books explain the rather opaque Memory Recall function in a way that will have you using it and able to restore it if you accidentally reset the camera. NOTE: This book is printed in black and white. Color illustrations appear in monochrome. Read more

  • Publishing Defective - Content Good
The media could not be loaded. I plan to use this book as a reference for some time but numerous pages are not bound in the book, they just slide out! Have never experienced this fault in any book. The content appears to be thorough snd helpful. Amazon is replacing the book but I am worried that a replacement may have the same problem because it looks perfect until you open the book and turn pages and the page slides out = some kind of manufacturing problem. ... show more

  • Well written but useless as a reference w/o an appendix
Lots of detailed information but trying finding it again without a table of contents nor appendix. It’s worthless as a reference unless you want to put sticky notes throughout the book. Save your money and buy the John Greengo video. At least he understands the importance of a table of contents and breaks the videos up into easy to reference clips. ... show more

  • The author knows the camera BUT...
How can you print a book without a Table of Contents or Index....? Unless you use tabs all over the book, forget finding things quickly! 😩
