For the money, this no name gaming monitor blew every other monitor I have tried out of the water. ASUS, Dell, Lenovo,AOC and even LG. Every single other monitor had horrible light lead and or really bad IPS Glow. This monitor directly out of the box has a damn near perfect LCD panel. First off, let me start by saying I am not a gamer. That said, this monitor is excellent for many other tasks as well. Specifically, I do a lot of CAD work and modeling and 1920x1080 just isn't as sharp as I would like it to be on a 27" monitor, and 4K is tiny and some Windows apps do not behave well at anything besides native scaling. The 2K 2560x1440 resolution of this panel makes it a perfect fit for my own applications. In terms of image quality, this thing is beautiful. The image is sharp and crisp with no distortion, no dead or stuck pixels, and no discernable variations in brightness on the panel. Basically, this panel has none of the issues that I have seen with panels from some of the far more well known brands. Contrast levels are amazing with the fantastic black levels that VA panels are known for and are not compromised by its excellent antiglare coating. Color reproduction is also excellent with clearly visible color gradients at all steps. Although this is a VA panel rather than IPS, the viewing angles are excellent with no issues that I can see from any angle you would typically look at the panel from (even radical off angle viewing is fine -- and WAY better than any TN panel could ever offer). When testing with high motion objects on a black background, there is a small bit of smear, but it is less than I have ever seen on a VA panel, and movies and videos look great on it. The settings on the monitor also offer much better than average configurability, with full settings for gamma adjustment, HDR support, and overdrive adjustments for correcting motion smear. Beyond the image quality, everything else about this monitor is also great. The stand is very reminiscent in design to that used by the higher end Dell Ultrasharp displays, with full tilt and swivel capability, a huge amount of height adjustment, and capable of being rotated into portrait mode at either plus or minus 90 degrees. And, if you want to remove the stand and use a swivel arm, it has standard VESA mounting holes on back. The LED lighting on the back is neat, but something I can totally live without (and is easily disabled in the menu). The actual case and stand also both have attractive black styling with minimal bezel. The on screen menu is also very straightforward and easily navigable with the mini-joystick located on the back of the unit (the control also offers rapid access to input selection and volume control for passthrough audio to headphones, etc). With Freesync capability, excellent response time, and overdrive options to reduce ghosting, I am sure this monitor will work great for gaming, but it is by no means only suited for that. This monitor is also perfect for productivity work, media creation, and its resolution makes it a definite step up from 1080 panels for use with drafting and design work. Honestly, I have never even heard of Jlink monitors before, but after playing with this monitor I am very glad that I have now.     • Interesting Unit For The Price

This is a very large monitor, at a very interesting price point. Unfortunately, I have seen brand name monitors in this same size range for the same money. So I try to understand why I would purchase a no-name monitor for this type of money, rather than a brand name monitor. Let's look at what I found, and see if any of these particular items might justify spending money for the brand name rather than purchasing this no-name unit. First off this unit does not come packaged as well as many brand name units are packaged. The package for this unit is substantially thinner front to back then a similar brand name model. So that means there's not as much protection for the unit inside the package, as with the brand name units. Secondly when you open the package to take the unit out of the package you are treated with a dilemma, as you begin to pull out the styrofoam clamshell in the package, you realize that if you take it out with one side facing down, all of the accessory items for the monitor are going to fall out of the packaging on to the ground. If you reverse the box, and take the packaging out the other way around, the accessory items will stay in their compartments, but the monitor itself will fall out of the styrofoam packing and hit the ground. You do have to make a choice. I really prefer working with a brand name product that comes in packaging, where I don't have to make that choice, or it is made plainly simple that there is no choice to make open from this end only. Once you have the monitor out of the package, set up is pretty much straightforward as it is with all units this size. This unit has a weight, and balance to it that is comparable to the major brands name units on the market. The unit does have a Slimline chassis which gives it a very stylish look, and the screen is surrounded by a very slim bezel. The screen itself does not have a tremendous amount of anti-glare coating on it, the reflectivity is much more distinctive on this screen, then it is on most other brands name units. Once again I think this is one of the areas that is a cost-cutting measure on this unit. When we go to look at input connections on this monitor for a modern high-definition monitor the connection options are very disappointingly limited. You only get a VGA input, and an HDMI input. There is no accommodation for DVI, or DisplayPort adapters. These are items that are traditionally found on all of the major brand name comparable models available today. Once again this is another cost saving measure for this manufacturer. This unit comes back into its own with its display capabilities. These capabilities are clearly comparable to the major brand name units that this monitor is competing with in the marketplace today. The HDMI connection offers a very stunning 4K presentation that handled the 4K test palette in an acceptable manner, for a unit in this price range of monitors. The VGA port also had a pleasantly surprising image when paired to a high performance VGA card. Traditionally many new monitors from the competition are starting to downgrade their VGA circuitry, this manufacturer appears to have kept their VGA circuitry at a higher standard level. If you will be running this monitor in a VGA environment this might be a real determining factor for choosing this monitor over another option. The VGA display was quite well defined, colors were bright, warm, and easy to distinguish. All In all, this monitor is not a bad piece of gear.
