Throw a magnet into a body of water, almost any body of water, and you’ll come up with something. It’s pretty amazing sometimes what you can find. It’s usually something that goes in the trash at the end of the day but still so much fun. I originally got the magnet to go steelhead fishing but that hasn’t worked out yet. I’ll keep trying. I purchased this kit because my 5 year old grandson wanted to go magnet fishing. I had never gone so I wanted to encourage his thirst for adventure. First trip out we had a blast pulling up small pieces of metal. Listening to his mind go into an explanation of what he was finding and how long it had been under the water was entertaining. I will say 30 minutes into the trip he told me “Pa we have to up our game”. He was disappointed with the pulling power of the magnet. I am not sure it was attached to metal and just letting go or if it was attached to sticks and branches and pulling through but there was something under there that wanted to come up and we just couldn’t get it to come out. He had a blast though and when I was leaving after taking him home he asked when we could go again. Well needless to say I am “upping my game” but we will have fun either way. ... show more
