Description

The Compex Edge 2.0 Muscle Stimulator Kit with TENS offers 4 different programs, two of which are dedicated to muscle training, another tailored to speedy muscle recovery, and TENS pain management. Within the muscle-training program, one targets endurance by increasing blood flow and activating slow- twitch muscle fibers. The other program caters to Resistance training by targeting both slow and fast-twitch muscle fibers. When you're finished training, the third program helps to reduce lactic acid build-up, thereby speeding up recovery time and reducing the likelihood of sore muscles the day after.

  • Outstanding support documentation and ease of use
Just got my Compex Edge, unpacked it, and found the supporting documentation to be over the top, excellent in helping me set it up and get going. CD for manual contained 3 Pdf docs on quick start, setting electrodes and the comprehensive manual. The packaging was colorful and also over the top. Compex looks to be a very competent company with well developed products. Will start using it today. A couple of negatives. As a first time user with EMS units, I researched the market but even then really didn't know what capabilities to look for. There are only 3 programs with the Edge and I may actually need a few more. I am a 100% disabled Vet and am using an EMS system to rebuild my damaged muscles. I probably should have spent the extra bucks and bought the Compex Sports Elite model instead but was trying to save a few bucks and not buy the bells and whistles I don't need. Now it looks like I need some of the bells and whistles. Will see. If this gives me the results I need to help rebuild then I'll spend the extra later and get the more capable model and take the rehab process further. Also I can't find a Hard Travel Case to efficiently organize and protect my unit. It comes with a flimsy cloth draw string black bag which offers no protect at all. Considering the significant cost of even a basic unit, it would really be helpful if Compex would offer a hard case at least as an accessory. Overall am very pleased with my purchase and hopeful it will deliver what I need it to do in increasing muscle tone and some stamina.... ... show more

  • Pretty legit, made me a believer.
I was intrigued about ems for awhile, but I could never justify the cost. Fast forward to an injury that required surgery, and I was looking for ways to regain strength faster once I get to a point in my rehab program that allows it, so I finally bit the bullet and got one. I haven't been using it for rehab, but rather testing it on my thighs just to see what the fuss is about, and whether I might want to use it on my weaker muscles once they heal. Having used it, I think it's a worthwhile addition. Here's my take on each of the three included modes: active recovery- relatively pleasant, just kind of shakes the muscles and gets the blood flowing, seems to relieve tension in the muscle. I could see this being a godsend after leg-day or long runs. If you've ever had legs so sore it hurt to climb stairs following heavy physical exertion, you might really like this. You can easily do this while reading or watching TV. endurance- It contracts the muscles in close succession. You'll feel the tension, but even on high settings I found it tolerable, it just sort of tires the muscle out over time. This might be great after doing an endurance workout to stress the muscles once they're already tired. Like a stationary bike or treadmill, you can watch TV while doing it. Strength- I was skeptical that the machine could target different types of muscle fibers, but this setting made me a believer. Definitely the hardest to tolerate, it contracts your muscles very hard , with a rest between each contraction cycle. I can see this being useful, particularly to get more out of isolation work with lower amounts of weight. This setting is strong enough that I found it distracting while trying to watch a show while running it, so don't expect to get massive muscles while filing your tax return. So, this thing is not going to replace any form of exercise per se, but it is far from the quackery I thought it might be when I first considered the concept. It does what it claims, and has a variety of uses for active people & athletes. ... show more

  • A miracle worker
Color: Green, Feature With Tens
I absolutely cannot give enough praise to Compex and the design of this. It has done wonders for me as an athlete. I have been dealing with sharp pain in my knees and once I used this on my quads to reset my neurological system my knee issues are practically non existent. On top of this I was using it to see if it would help with muscle building and I know for a fact this product has made it incredibly easier. I could rave on and on about this but I will simply end here with this and say its beyond worth its weight in gold. Now one minor issue, I would highly suggest purchasing more electrodes as within about a month I ripped one of them and you have exactly minimum amount to achieve certain tasks. This is literally the only issue I have with this, period. And it does not phase me the slightest. ... show more

  • Comes in handy
Color: Green, Feature With Tens
Uhhh the categories to rate besides overall don’t match the product. This is my second one, I dropped the first one and broke the screen. This comes in handy for day after overdoing it during workouts, lots of bending over for yard work and the arthritis of old injuries.

  • Use it every day
Color: Green, Feature With Tens
Love this. Use the training recovery everyday before bed on my legs and can feel the difference. Especially good when a muscle is too sore to use a massage gun on. I have used the pain relief TENS a few times on my hip joint and its worked. Never used the endurance or strength setting to reliably review it. Very simple to use and compex has many images of pad placement if you google. Definitely glad I bought this ... show more

  • A lot of bang for the buck
After 2 months of use, I found the basic Compex powerful and easy to use. It comes with instructions for electrode placement and product instructions. The main problem with the basic set is that it requires wires that are easily tangled in storage. Additionally, the original electrodes do not have much "stickiness"; within 2 days of use, I found myself taping the leads to secure them to my skin. A generic electrode pack found on Amazon was much better and has lasted for several weeks. This seller has provided a bag to help with storage of the charger, leads and machine. The seller delivered the product with speed. The price was comparable to other offers and slightly less expensive than the one on the Compex site. ... show more

  • Helps with severe muscle tension.
Color: Green, Feature With Tens
I purchased this because a colleague of mine has one and let me borrow it when I was developing a migraine from severe tension in my neck. I only use it to combat my muscles knotting up- which gives me horrible headaches. For that, it is 100% worth the buy. I use it on my upper back and neck and it does wonders. It is easy to use and I love it. My colleague is into crossfit and uses it after workouts. He thinks it is amazing as well. Well worth the purchase. ... show more
