Features

  • Faster and Lively Printing Experience: It can print at up to 250mm/s speed with 2500mm/s2 acceleration, faster than most of printers on the market. You can complete models efficiently, saving time to wait for high-quality print jobs. The optimized UI uses motion graphics to display the leveling process and other parameters, so you will know how the printer is doing at a glance, providing you a perfect printing experience.
  • Easily Start to Print: The printer is easy to put together in 3 steps within about 20 minutes only. It equips CR Touch for auto leveling and strain sensor for auto Z offset. It is easy to get a perfect first layer. This printer can save your time in leveling, and easily start to print. Which is friendly to all of customers including the beginners.
  • "Sprite" Direct Extruder: The "Sprite" Direct Extruder of this printer enables smooth feeding of various filaments, including PLA, PETG, and TPU. And the extruder is market-proven for its reliability, as over 500,000 units have been shipped worldwide.
  • Dual Stable Structure: Dual Z-axis synced by a quality timing belt, ensuring high print quality. The rigid dual Z-axis lead screws reduce Z wobbling effectively. The Y-axis features two 8mm linear shafts made of strong and wear-proof steel, which underpins a steady and accurate motion of the build platform for a lasting time.
  • 32-Bit Silent Mainboard & More: This printer equips a 32-bit silent mainboard with an advanced stepper motor drive to control all axes more precisely for less operation noise. The PC spring steel build plate is sticky and flexible, making it easy to remove the printed models by bending it slightly. Moreover, it equips the auto filament loading and uploading, one tap to load the filament, and one tap to unload it.

  • Really great printer, however there are some downsides.
The quality on this printer is actually really good. As long as you get a well sliced and modeled gcode file, it’s really good. The installation was really easy and simple, and required little to no effort. The screws were a bit tricky since they weren’t labeled and were kinda mixed up, but I eventually got it. Leveling was also a hassle free thing to do. I clicked a button, and it cleaned the nozzle, automatic Z offset, and leveled the entire bed, while giving me accurate feedback. Noise is not so good. The fan at 100% can be noisy for some people, especially when you’re sleeping, so that’s one of the downsides. The durability I have no complaints about the overall structure, but the original bed plate was faulty. It actually burned a hole through the removable bed plate, but they gave me a full refund without returning it, so I basically got it for free. I would definitely recommend this printer, but you need to tweak some setting before your prints look like mine. 100% recommended for anyone who’s looking to start out 3d printing. ... show more

  • It's a rocky start as a first 3D printer.
Let's take it from the top... The instructions exist but are nearly useless. It's very hard for me to believe that no one at Creality speaks English. Not one person is fluent in English and can take 20 minutes to write that tiny manual? I don't get it. Nonetheless, the illustrations (looking through a magnifying glass) were enough to assemble the printer properly and I eventually was able to print one of the sample objects, the cat, successfully. But that was not before having to buy additional parts that are mandatory to get the printer working and not mentioned anywhere. Again, I have a hard time understanding what the people at Creality are thinking. First, the glass build plate doesn't connect in any way to the print bed. So when you try to print, it slides all over the place which does not do anything good for the object you're trying to print. It was through a YouTube unboxing video that I learned that I have to go to my local office supply store and purchase binder clips to hold the glass to the build plate. And even then there are problems because the auto-leveling mechanism will cause the extruder to hit the clips and knock them off. Also if you don't place the clips in exactly the right positions, they will interfere with the movement of the build surface. Then once that was done, the object I was printing failed to adhere to the glass. So when you try to print, it slides all over the place which does not do anything good for the object you're trying to print. That's when I discovered on Amazon that a whole cottage industry has sprung up manufacturing 3D printer glues of various kinds to solve this problem. So I ordered the most popular one, waited for it to arrive, applied it to the build surface, and was finally able to make a successful print. But I've got to say that process leaves a lot to be desired and Creality appears to be feining ignorance about all of this even though it's impossible for them to be unaware of these issues. Yet they pretend like the kit is complete and contains everything you need to print right out of the box. Worse yet, they could have included the clips and some glue for less than it costs to bundle in those side cutters that I'll never use. Creality needs to get their act together. In the end, I decided to only deduct one star because these complaints refer to a one-time setup process after which the resulting printer appears to function quite well. Update: I decided to try the Sonic Pad before I saw another review saying that connecting anything to the USB-C port causes failure. I have not experienced any failures yet. But I also cannot get the USB connection to work between the Sonic pad and the S1. Googling for the issue returns far too many hits. *sigh* Come on Creality... ... show more

  • Second one I’ve baught
This is the second time I’ve bought this printer. And there will likely be a 3rd. For its price range, I don’t think any other machine can compare.

  • Would not function to it's full capability
TL;DR at the bottom. I was able to get it set up and printing easily with the provided files. As a beginner, this was an enticing factor. And for the majority of people, it was giving what I found to be acceptable performance. BUT I started running into issues when anything was plugged into the USB port. I was aware of the issues caused from backpowering through USB, so I had intentionally blocked the 5V pin in my USB cables that I tested. If ANYTHING was plugged into the printer's USB C port (even just a cord without anything on the other end), The Extruder Stepper would not respond to anything. All the other Axis worked, but the extruder would just seem to ignore gcode commands via terminal, or even from the printer's terminal under Prepare > Move > Extruder Menu. This means not being able to use Octoprint, Klipper, or Pronterface. No firmware updates via USB cable, remote controlling via wireless, no tuning or calibration of Esteps, and lots of other functionality. Nothing that the USB port is there for could be used because of this. I believe this was just the case with my printer, as I've seen plenty of people using octoprint, etc on their S1s with a USB C connection. I'm not an electrical engineer by any means, but I believe the mainboard had a fault that bypassed the extruder's stepper driver if anything was plugged into the port. LUCKILY I was still within the amazon return window and a full refund is being issued. I don't know how many users will really be using the USB port for day to day use, but I feel if I'm paying more for this printer than other Ender 3 models, I want to be able to use it to its full potential and the one I received would not be able to achieve this. After talking to the S1 community, I did run into a handful of other users who had experienced similar issues, but it seemed like the majority of users didn't, which is why I'm only giving it 3 stars instead of one, as I'm probably going to replace it with another S1 (maybe even upgrade to the Pro) because the features included I did actually enjoy. TL;DR Printer worked adequately when using it in its most basic form, but would not work when trying to utilize the USB C port on the printer. Printer was returned. ... show more

  • youre on your own when it breaks on you
The thing is a fine entry level printer. once it breaks though, good luck scouring online forums, youtube, reddit, etc for help because creality customer support is non-existant. avoid buying this if you can
