I ordered these in the gray and I love the style. When I first received them I put them on and felt they were too tight. I ordered a size 7 1/2 which should have been good and I almost returned them. But then I decided to try them out and wear them in the house for one day. That was enough to change my mind. So as far as fit, I would go with your normal size. I think my problem was all summer I had worn sandals and my foot just felt tight inside the shoe. But wear them in the house a bit before you decide if you think they’re tight. Today I used them for my first 4 mile hike and they were perfect! They were very comfortable. They gave me great support and traction. While others in the hiking group were wearing sneakers and slipping and didn’t have any ankle support I was doing fine. These Columbia hiking shoes were great. They appear that they will be very durable and I believe they will keep my feet dry. I highly recommend these and I would buy them again! ... show more

    • Comfortable, lightweight, and stylish!
These shoes are super comfortable for hiking or walking, and I've been wearing them everywhere! I appreciate that they're waterproof and only took minimal breaking in. They're also nice and lightweight compared to hiking boots I owned in the past. I bought the light tan version with the electric blue laces and love the fun color! One of the best shoes I have ever purchased. Went for a 10 hour trek of 12000 feet at an inclination of 45 degrees on a very rocky trail and becoz of these shoes my feet couldn’t thank me more ! It cushioned my feet and protected them so well from snow and mud. While descending the rocky trail, believe me, I kept thanking the one who had put all the brains to design this product :-) My feet rested well on the padded base and the lace kept it in place while the ankle had no complaints coz of the shape! I normally wear 7.5-8 shoe but the 8’s are a perfect fit. These boots are high quality. Very comfortable like a tennis shoe. Not clunky, chunky, heavy or awkward but lightweight and flexible. However the insoles are terrible and are simply a flat piece of thin foam with the shoe name on it. Absolutely no arch support or any support at all. I don’t have crazy high arches but I could feel the gaps between my feet and the bottom of the boot. I tried my Brooks tennis shoe insoles and they are perfect. I will be keeping these boots and plan buy another pair of Brooks insoles online or at the running shoe store. ... show more

I love these. They are completely waterproof, fit really well with room to allow your feet swell during hikes. I’ve hiked many many miles in mountains, rivers, ocean, etc and they are holding up. I will buy these as long as they make them

I got a great deal on these hiking shoes. I love the color combination-teal and brown. They’re very comfortable-keep in mind, with most any new shoes there’s a bit of a break in period. It didn’t take but a couple of hikes to really break these in. I would recommend going up half a size as with any hiking shoe. Especially if you’re planning on hiking in the winter months and are going to wear thicker socks. These are truly waterproof. I was tired of getting my socks soaking wet hiking through shallow creeks or puddles or even just wet grass, which is the primary reason I bought these shoes. Not waterproof, not breathable, not cushioned, very wide. The only way to know whether they were waterproof was to wear them, so they are not in new condition any more. I would be happy to exchange for a similar item that actually works. I had to buy a separate cushioned insole and pull the laces so tight it made a little wrinkle in the toe. This would all have been OK with me. If only they were actually waterproof and breathable. I’m hoping the company will read this review and realize that they were not as advertised and need to be replaced with something that actually works. ... show more

No issues with shoveling snow or hiking on difficult terrain. They stay looking nice too even after walking through snow or getting wet, unlike the last hiking boots I purchased. I shoveled for a long time and my feet didn’t get cold. I wore for a long hike and no blisters or issues. Love them.
