  • My new favorite boots
Size: 9.5 Color: Quarry, Cool Wave
I bought these for icy Michigan winters with a bum knee and they are my new favorite shoes. They aren’t too heavy for everyday wear, and have great traction on slick wet surfaces. I can wear them around the lab for a whole day and my feet do not hurt. Break in quickly, no blisters at all. Sized up a half size so I could wear fuzzy socks and they fit perfectly. ... show more

  • 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Comfortable, Durable, and Perfect for Any Trail!
Size: 7.5 Wide Color: Cordovan, Crown Jewel
The Columbia Women's Newton Ridge Hiking Boots have quickly become my go-to choice for outdoor adventures! These boots strike the perfect balance between comfort, durability, and style, making them ideal for both casual hikes and more rugged terrain. Right out of the box, they felt incredibly comfortable with no break-in period needed. The lightweight design means I can wear them for hours without feeling weighed down, and the cushioned insole provides great support, even on longer hikes. Plus, the waterproof feature has been a game-changer—I've hiked through puddles, rain, and mud, and my feet stayed completely dry. The grip on these boots is fantastic too. Whether I’m hiking uphill on rocky terrain or navigating slippery trails, they’ve provided excellent traction and stability. Not to mention, they’re stylish enough to wear around town after the hike! If you're looking for a reliable, comfortable, and waterproof hiking boot, the Columbia Newton Ridge boots are an outstanding choice. They’ve exceeded all my expectations and have kept my feet happy on every adventure. Highly recommend! ... show more

  • Outstanding boots if you get the right size
Size: 10 Wide Color: Quarry, Cool Wave
It took me 5 pairs before I finally got the right size for these. Most Columbia boots run small and narrow. I know this because I own two different types of Columbia snow boots. They are the only brand I wear for snow/winter for the last 20 - 30 years. I bought these assuming they would also run small, big mistake. If you buy the right size, when you put these on, you won’t want to take them off because they are that comfortable. I normally wear 9-9.5 medium width shoes. I purchased a 10 wide, a half size up from my usual shoe size range, to allow for my feet to have plenty of room with hiking socks and because the toes are on my right feet do not lay flat like my left foot. Your toes should not feel squished in any shoe. I got wide because Columbia are usually on the narrow side. My left foot is a medium width (almost narrow) and my right foot is medium width (almost wide). I also purchased Columbia hiking socks which feel amazing in these boots. Quarry is a very pretty grey color with black, light grey and blue accents. Such a pretty color combination. I will be wearing these to walk our dog on the trails in our neighborhood, which I do daily and are often swampy and even flooded in some areas. I was previously using my Brooks Ghost sneakers but too often coming home with mud, wet socks and saturated shoes. We mostly do trails but also mix in some sidewalk walking, so I needed a shoe that would be good on both. I will come back to update my review should they not work well. Super excited to wear them tomorrow on our morning walk through the woods. Update: 2/20/23 I wore these yesterday for a 3 mile walk/hike through trails and on sidewalks walking a dog. They felt great while walking. I did notice that when I took them off, that my one hammer toe had redness from the top of the boots while walking but I never felt this while on the walk. A few hours later and my left knee has some strange pain while going up or down stairs. Next thing I noticed was some lower back pain and pain at the balls of both feet when I woke up this morning. Not sure that I will be wearing these often, maybe only on rainy days, but even then, I am not sure that the pain is worth it. I do have psoriatic arthritis in my knees but this pain is different, so I must have aggravated my knee somehow while wearing these hiking shoes. Debating on returning them because my brooks sneakers work great but I was specifically looking for waterproof and ankle support while on the trails. Update: 2/28/23 I have worn these again and had success, no knee or back pain afterward. Not my favorite shoe for walking our dog on sidewalks and not as comfortable as my Brooks but they are waterproof and are saving me in the trails right now. ... show more

  • OK
Size: 6.5 Wide Color: Quarry, Cool Wave
These are just OK. They fit true to size and don’t take long to break in. They’re leather which is rare in this price range. They’re waterproof, but they don’t breathe. My feet get sweaty and cold in them after a few hours of northern wintry weather no matter what socks I wear, and the traction does well in mud but does not grip enough for winter. On the flip side, the hard sole seems like it will last a long time. They’re too hot for summer. This pair of boots manages to be modestly good at everything but excels at nothing. When they go on sale, they are well worth the price and seem very sturdy and durable. These would be perfect for a novice or someone who doesn’t hike in challenging conditions. They are the all season tires of hiking footwear. For a first pair of hiking boots, this is the pair. ... show more

  • Hiked a glacier and walked around Iceland!!
Size: 8 Color: Cordovan, Crown Jewel
I bought these for a trip to Iceland and they didn't need to even be broken in. Super comfortable, great ankle support, beautiful color, and most importantly: ACTUALLY WATERPROOF! They are true to size and have lasted through many hikes after my trip as well and don't show any signs of wear. Love them. ... show more

  • 2.5 years after purchase, and I still love them
Size: 7 Wide Color: Elk, River Blue
I’ve worn these boots for hikes, during snowy Colorado winters, and sometimes just to go to the zoo! They’re comfortable without being overly cushy, I’ve never gotten a blister from them, they are still waterproof, and they’re durable. Definitely worth the money.
