  • The best work horse winter boot that's warm, TRULY waterproof and comfortable without being ugly! 5 stars earned!
Size: 8.5 Color: Shale/Dark Raspberry
As someone who lives in a cold/snowy climate (at the base of the mountains in Utah) and who participates in a lot of outdoor winter activities, I did a lot of research before buying a pair of winter/snow boots. I'm always thrilled when I get it right on the first try without having to send anything back. These boots are worth every penny. I have come to be a major fan of Columbia outerwear in general and these boots were no exception! From the moment I put them on I knew I would love them if they kept the warmth in and the wet out- which they do! These boots are extremely comfortable! I can wear them all day and don't want to take them off! They aren't a fashion accessory but aren't ugly either which is nice. I bought them to do a job, not look darling, but I actually really like the way they look as well. They look just fine under my jeans. They fit great and are "substantial" without being super clunky and are surprisingly light. Most importantly they keep your feet warm and keep any and all moisture OUT! You could trudge around in sleet, snow, puddles, mud for hours and stay toasty and dry, and I have chronically cold feet so I would know! The tread is really substantial as I mentioned and I feel totally comfortable hiking in these in winter or just hanging Christmas lights on a ladder outside. I can't praise these boots enough! If you're look for the cutest and least boot looking waterproof boots in the world, these are not for you, but if you want a real winter work horse boot that you can actually wear under boot cut jeans to work and not look completely silly, these are a winner! I love them and they have survived 2 full winters with me and still look new! See my pictures to compare what this boot looks like next to a regular shoe. I am a true 8.5 size. ... show more

  • Great cold weather boots, so comfortable, so cute!!
Size: 7.5 Color: Black/Columbia Grey
These boots are awesome. comfort: 10+, Style: 10, fit as they should: 10. They do not make my calf feel like its in a cast like most of the heavy duty cold weather boots do. They are soft inside and have a great sole. They also have a really good grip on the bottom that does not slip easily; its the rubber they used. I really love these boots and they are pretty cute too. I got the 7.5 and they fit a hair larger than my 7.5 sketcher shoes. However, I tried the 7 and they were a hair too small so I am still a 7.5 like all my other shoes. This is nice because if I wanted an insert or foot warmer in there or wear thick socks then there is room for that; most wear thick socks in the winter so this is so perfect.. I like that they do not fit snug on my toes, there is room so they don't get sore or squished. Ohh, and they don't make my feet sweat either. I wore them in 50 degree weather and did not get sweaty, to my surprise. These boots are actually rated to be in -25 degree weather. Ill never be in that temp so I cant rate on that but they are warm in the 20 degree where I do go in. I included pictures, the boots fit well under pants or if you lace them looser they will fit your pant leg under them; really versatile. Mine are a size 7.5 and my pictures will show how they are not bulky and still have a cute look to them. The toe and partial sides are a suede and the bottom sides are a rubber like material and the upper sides are a canvas like material. They are also waterproof! Ill buy these again if needed. ... show more

  • Kept a Floridian warm in Canadian winter :)
Coming from Florida, I did a lot of research and preparation before taking a Feb trip to the winter carnival in Quebec City. I knew I’d be outside all day plying in the snow, sledding, walking, etc. My regular size is an 8, sometimes a 7.5, and slightly wide (or at least not narrow). I bought these in every variation of possible size that sounded like it could fit me after carefully reading the reviews, and after trying them all on (regular and wide 7.5, 8, even 8.5), the 8 wide fit the best. I also bought a few other styles for comparison but this was by FAR the best style, warmest, and most comfortable. They’re so lightweight too. I walked for 8+ miles a day, and didn’t have to break them in - they were comfortable immediately out of the box and never pinched or hurt anywhere. Also they are totally waterproof. I was in knee-deep snow often, and it even rained for a whole day and I was totally dry. The ONLY time I ever felt cold was coming through the bottom of the shoe when standing still for too long (at a nighttime parade specifically) - and I’ve since learned about the little warming things you can put in your shoes or gloves - but even just moving in the slightest or walking around warmed right back up. These were absolutely by far the best bang for the buck, and I looked around and tried on different styles for months prior! I wasn’t looking to make a hefty investment, I just wanted a reliable winter shoe for cold weather vacations that would last and keep me warm, especially as someone not accustomed to that weather. I wore them with wool socks, not even super thick ones or doubled up, and they were perfect. Also worth noting that they didn’t make me hot when inside like at restaurants or airport travel etc. They’re easy to clean, and super cute too! I got the black on black. 10/10 would recommend these to anyone! ... show more

  • Loved
Update: Lasted two Midwest USA winters. I would rate 3.5-4 stars. One disappointment is as they broke in, grit would slowly make its way through where the rubber meets the fabric - and they lost that waterproof/resistant after the first season. Original: I hit the age bracket where I’m looking more for comfort over style. While I will say, these boots could have a little more “style” with a colored faux lining (I purchased the all black), these are still cute and more importantly, comfortable. I bought an off brand and you could feel my heel sliding on the back heel, but my foot stays where it should with no slipping in these boots. My ankles feel supported, and my feet stay warm, and while I’ve only had them for a month, I am hopeful they will last more than a season or two (which is usually what happens with off brand winter gear) I already have a second color on my wishlist just because I like to color coordinate. Oh, additionally I got my normal size, but purchased wide because I do have slightly wider feet. No break-in time needed - fit perfect. ... show more

  • The BEST hiking Snow boots!
Size: 9.5 Color: Black/Columbia Grey
These are the BEST snow boots! I bought these specifically for a trip to Iceland in November 2024. They are 100% waterproof. The tread on the bottom is fantastic. I credit never falling in Iceland to these boots. (I slid on a hill near a glacier but I was able to regain traction quickly and not fall. In that spot 3 of my travel companions did fall.) They kept my feet so warm (paired with regular socks under merino wool socks) but never too warm. They were comfortable. They’re roomy enough to add a little arch support pad if needed… but not too big if I remove my extra arch support. I’m getting my moneys worth in NC as we are battling snow and ice. They were also wind proof. I’ve never had any blistering or anything like that from these. 100/10 ... show more

  • Very stylish and effective!
Great snow boot! They definitely keep your feet warm even when standing in snow or icy rain/slush. Already tested them out. Despite other people's reviews I ordered the same size I usually order in boots and I'm glad I did because they run big (for me). Even though I ordered my normal size they are still big with normal and with thick/fuzzy socks. So I'd suggest getting your normal size even if you plan on wearing more than one pair of socks..or use judgment because I always order a 9 in boots, heels, and flats and have never had a problem with online ordering, most of the time I can be an 8.5 for sneakers, but I rarely go up to a 9.5. I am pretty consistent with a 9. So, if you are for example usually a 7 but can do a 6.5 maybe do 7 and if you are a 7 but can sometimes do a 7.5 then maybe do 8 if you want thick socks--but I would even still recommend doing your normal size. Alls I know is for me they ran big and your normal size for boots should do the trick. Update: I saw some other reviews saying the boot is heavy. I will say it is heavier than your average boot or shoe, but nothing of concern for me..it doesn't hinder my walking and really I feel quite secure walking in these on ice and snow. If you are concerned though I suggest check out the shipping weight and use that for judgment, but really most durable snow boots have some weight to them since they are made of good material and thick. Non-issue over here. My ONLYYYY complaint is they might be TOO warm, which really isn't a complaint about the boot but more a complaint about handling the indoor-outdoor transition and insane New England weather. I wore them with leggings and normal socks to the mall because snow was still on the ground (un-melted) but a little while walking around the mall and my calves especially (and feet) were sweating up a storm. I pulled up my leggings (note: not even fleece-lined ones) which helped a bit to have the legging hiked up, but I suggest if you will be walking around in the heat a lot bring a 2nd pair of shoes to swap into for inside. Also when snow is still on the ground in 45 or 50 degree weather I might consider going with cheaper rain boots or unlined boots for that kind of weather. Already got a TON of compliments on these though! I think my coworker is considering a pair for herself. ... show more

  • Warm, Waterproof, and Comfortable All Day. These Boots Deliver
I absolutely love these Columbia Maiden Ice boots. They are incredibly comfortable and easy to wear for hours at a time without any foot fatigue. My feet stay warm even in cold, snowy conditions, and they are truly waterproof. No moisture gets in at all. They also hold up beautifully. After multiple wears in snow and slush, they still look clean and almost new. The traction is solid, which makes walking on icy or slippery surfaces feel much safer. These boots are well made, practical, and stylish enough to wear regularly during winter. Highly recommend if you want warmth, comfort, and durability without sacrificing looks. I would buy them again in a heartbeat. ... show more

  • Impressed
After having 2 bunion surgeries, I was in need of new winter boots. I bought 5 brands ranging from Merrill, Dansko, Columbia and a few other brands. I also bought each in 2 sizes: 5 and 5.5. These boots were the winner out of all. The material inside the boot is extremely soft and fluffy if that matters to you. It didn't change my opinion and in fact I didn't want fluffy boots. I did some research on winter boots and these came up as a top choice. Color: The colors didn't matter to me so much but now I end up liking the gray like color more and more every day. It's not a typical New England black, it does not get dirty and change color and yet the color goes with everything. I haven't had a problem keeping the internal fluffy stuff clean. They are high enough that the material doesn't stain from road grime. Weight: although very very slightly heavy, these things are sturdy enough to walk my 2 80 lbs dogs in the snow and not feel like I'm being weighted down. While picking them up by hand, they seem heavy, while on, they are not. Waterproof : not a single problem even between the laces. I've walked in snow up to my shins and my feet stayed dried. Really impressed here. Fit: spot on. I am a 5 and they fit perfectly. Here's the only CON I've experienced: you almost need a shoe horn to get your heel into the lower half of the boot. Once in, your heel isn't coming out while walking. There are no loops to hold on the edges so you really have to grip the sides of the boot to push your heel through the shaft. The laces are strong enough to tug on and wrap tight enough to make a snug fit. The shift can easily accommodate tucking jeans into them Comfort : I've walked my dogs for miles in these and the arch support is largely one of the best I've ever walked in for boots. My feet love these. Warmth : I've decided that I can walk the dogs and never have a cold foot. I've been snow blowing and again no cold feet. The only area of cold feet Ive experience is in the actual foot part (above the ankle has always been nice and toasty) is when I'm standing ice fishing. But it's not a bad cold. My feet never got to the part where I had to go home. I think it also had to so with what kind of socks. If the socks are sweaty, the feet are going to be cold. I can easy remedy that will various socks. I look forward to having to wear these boots and I'm glad I found them. This is totally worth the purchase. I got mine for about 64 here on Amazon. ... show more
