Just back from a two week hiking trip and these waterproof Columbia hiking shoes worked great. They are so comfortable and light weight. The rubber bottom tread grabbed onto the stones and gravel with no slipping. The body fabric breathes and my feet did not sweat. The design of the shoe looks good with any kind of pants and they are not clunky at all. I used them the whole trip, not just for hiking but for just walking around. I tried on many known brands, from all price points, and these were my favorite by far.

Right out of the box, I walked a 2.5 mile walk and I’m surprised at how good they feel. I am normally an 8.5 wide, but I got an 9W and 9.5W based on other reviews and liking to wear wool socks, and the 9 wide worked best for me. I enjoyed the toe box. I have a high instep and high arches, so my feet fall asleep in almost every hiking/trail shoe. Only 4 starts, because I just got them the other day and so far so good. Haven’t tried out the water proofing yet.

Because of sizing inconsistencies in shoes I've order lately, I ordered both size 8 and 8.5, knowing that one or the other pair would be returned. Normally any size 8 fits like a glove and these shoes did as well, I am happy to say. The 8.5 is going back. The 8s fit very well and are comfortable. As for waterproof, I can't say definitively one way or the other until that trip to Alaska happens in August.

I love this shoe, 10/10 would recommend. Do size up however because they run pretty small. I normally wear a 7.5 but I had to purchase a 8.5 to be able to wear them comfortably. They are waterproof which is great and the white/cream color does not get easily dirty. I’ve worn them on muddy trails with no problems. They break in very fast and are so comfortable they’re my go to shoe for amusement parks. You can still get your socks/feet wet since they’re not a boot style around the ankles but they have so many styles to pick from that are just as great.

Most of the gortex shoes are clunky and uncomfortable. I wear 8 and have a wide foot. I ordered 8.5 wide just to give my foot a little more room to wear thick socks while hiking . There was no break in time and while the shoes are a little heavier than my brooks but they are super comfortable. If you are on the fence buy them!
