These are a great pair of boots & luckily I got them on sale. Trust the reviews. They do run small so I ordered a size up. I still had to exchange them another size up so that I could wear them with thick socks. I fit into kids shoes which generally stop at a big kids size 6. Kudos to Columbia! My son has wide feet ,so th shoes don't bother him so it fits well quite comfortable. It doesn't look as flattering and a bit expensive. but it is waterproof.

We needed to buy a shoe for hiking for the scouts. I research online to see which one was the best for boys. He had a pair of merrell's before, but outgrew them. I just wanted to get him something that fits and would last. And is waterproof. And looks cute. What sold me with the shoe was the step in shoe and not a full tie boot. So, I decided to get this for him, but when he tried it on, he did not like this shoe. He said it was a little stuffy and tight. And yes the tfit was half size too small as well. Like other hiking shoes that wrap your feet. I personally think that that's how a hiking boot should fit, having tried on and wore many hiking boots myself. But, he has sensory issues, and did not like this shoe. Plus, it was half size smaller. I need to purchase the shoes, to go on the hiking trips with him, and I will see how the pair and women's fit. We ended up getting another pair of Columbia's, the black one with red and black soles. It is called Newton hiking boots. Thise had great fit, true to size and he loved the comfort! ... show more
