Looks like a hiking boot... Not that it really is. It's lightweight and soft to walk around in on smooth surfaces. If I were an actual hiker and walking around on uneven and or rocky terrain this would not be a boot of my choosing. This boot is more along the lines of a decent leather basketball shoe. Keep in mind, it is lightweight and the leather is thin, the tread portion is soft and not much for being rugged. Other than that they are comfortable enough to be worn daily during light duty activities. Best to find them on sale because they are a bit overpriced due to a person is probably from paying for the name on the label than the materials the boot is constructed from.     • Quick break in all weather hiking boot
I put in 10,000 plus steps every day. This boot, my third pair of the same, is perfect for my morning 5K in all kinds of weather. They last me about 6 months or approximately 1,000 miles before the soles are wearing out. The bulk of my walking is gravel road and pavement. I can always depend on these boots for good support, relatively light weight and to keep my feet warm and dry not matter the weather. ... show more

In my opinion runs a little narrow. Initially ordered a standard width which did not fit. Returned for a wide width and I've fallen in love. Fits good, light, very comfortable. Would definitely buy again.
