  • Great Boot! Bang for your Buck!
Size: 7.5 Wide Color: Cordovan/Squash
This boot is fantastic right out of the box! It’s comfortable, provides excellent arch support, and the width is just right. The leather appears to be coated, allowing water to bead and run off, making them water resistant. I’ll provide an update on scuffing after my son has put more miles on them. The tread looks well-made, and I’m confident they’re slip-resistant based on my initial check. I purchased these for my son for Boy Scouts hiking and camping trips in a size 7.5 wide. He and I normally wear the same size, but I went up half a size and chose the wide option because his foot is broader and he usually wears thicker socks for hiking or camping. They’ll be used for a weekend camping and hiking trip soon, and I’ll update once he’s broken them in. For $45, these boots are an excellent value I have no complaints! ... show more

  • Columbia hiking boots
Size: 9 Color: Cordovan/Squash
I've worn some terrible boots, like those US Army boots that required breaking-in before they didn't hurt your feet, and others that became too tight as they aged, or developed a lump on the insole that had to be patched or padded. Columbia boots aren't like that at all, because they fit properly the first time you put them on and continue to fit until their service life is done (still trying to figure out when that will be.) These Newton Ridgeline II hiking boots are the 3rd pair I have, the oldest being about 7 years and still worn for work. The other, 5 years in use has only shown visible signs of use on the outside, remaining perfectly comfortable and staying in the right position on the foot (not sliding or slipping sideways, etc.) Surprisingly, the pair I just received are nearly identical to those, except for the new boot smell. The soles and treads of these boots is amazingly unworn and intact, unlike others that I've tried that got worn-down at the heels, or lost a piece of tread when something sharp was stepped on. After un-boxing these new Newtons I checked the size inside the tongue, examined the pair for symmetry, and then tried them on without socks to feel no seams or ridges, or anything except cool support. These are very good boots. There might be better selections out there somewhere but they probably cost a whole lot more. What I particularly like about Columbia boots is the way they look, without all the neon colors and fancy external patterns that either go with a space-suit or should be worn on a basketball court. Columbia boots don't look like that because that's not what makes them good. It's the precise design and excellent craftsmanship and the great fit. ... show more

  • Great boots!
Size: 10.5 Color: Cordovan/Squash
Great boots! Ordered them for my dad who was looking for shoes to wear to his factory but that also look good and that are reasonable. That’s why he rejected the idea of steel toe shoes. He finally narrowed down on this one since it was a good balance of aesthetic + functionality + cost. He has slightly wide feet and is prone to pronation since he is flat footed. But he’s found these to be quite comfortable. He’s been wearing them to the factory almost everyday and loves them so far. ... show more

  • Great Boots! One minor problem…
Size: 11 Color: Cordovan/Squash
Comfortable right out of the box. Fits well, and true to size. The tread is grippy on a variety of surfaces and terrains. They proved to be waterproof as I crossed streams and shallow ponds of water. My only gripe is the laces and hooks. The laces are longer than I’d like, and the hooks are large enough to accommodate the laces and then some which creates a hazard. Having tucked the laces in after tying them, they became untucked while hiking. This became an issue when the loop from the right boot lace caught the left boots top hook and proceeded to toss me forward to the ground as if some had tied my laces together resulting — not fun. Otherwise, the boots are great. They look and feel great, and are well worth the cost. ... show more

  • Lightweight, breathable boots. Last just under a year.
Size: 15 Wide Color: Cordovan/Squash
This is my third pair of these boots because, for daily use, the comfort and breathability are unmatched - especially for someone who sweats a lot. They are super light and kept my feet dry and comfortable through an hour of hiking with the dog every day, in both summer and winter. They feel great right out of the box. The main drawback is durability. With daily use, they consistently last just under a year. I had the same issue with both pairs: the rubber outsole wears fast, and the internal heel cup material rips. If you need a lightweight, breathable shoe and don't mind replacing it annually, the comfort is worth the price! ... show more

  • Awesome footwear!
Size: 9.5 Color: Cordovan/Squash
Excellent craftsmanship and quality! Perfect fit and comfortable, along with a great price for a name brand shoe. Five stars well deserved!

  • Great boot!
Size: 9.5 Wide Color: Black/Black
2nd pair. First pair lasted 4 years with regular use. I find them very comfortable and durable. I went wide with my 2nd pair and they are even more comfortable than the first. I do think the boot size leans a little narrow.

  • I Love These Boots! Great for Rucking, Hiking, and Backpacking.
Size: 13 Wide Color: Black/Black
I love these boots! I primarily needed a boot for rucking and wanted something waterproof for the rainy and snowy seasons. The fit and feel of these were great right out of the box, enough so that I started using them over my trail runners for a few backpacking trips where I knew I would be constantly in the rain. While not as lightweight as a pair of trail runners, these are lighter than some of my other backpacking boot choices of the past. The quality appears to be one that will last, but only time will tell. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a quality boot that is comformtable. ... show more
