I’ve used these boots for working in construction in snow/ cold for 4 years now. I need flexibility, waterproof, warmth and arch support. These have held up perfectly. I only replace them when I wear the soles out in about six months. But I really put them to the test. They’ve never once allowed water in, torn or come apart. I love the fact that they’re very flexible I can bend down kneel down and they’re not stiff or heavy. I do not need steel toe boots for my work. I also have plantar fasciitis and these are by far the most comfortable boots or shoe I’ve ever put on and I keep a second pair for casual wear. Like any other waterproof shoe or boot they can be a little bit hot if it’s not cold outside, so I wear some type of wool sock to pull moisture away. Traction is pretty unbelievable. I work a lot on ladders slippery icy surfaces and they are just perfect. I hope Columbia reads this- Please don’t change them.

comfortable, lightweight hiking boot right out of the box! Manufacturer's insole is good, but i took it out and replaced it with Dr. Scholl's "Run comfort insoles" which made them even better.

These boots are a really good bang for the buck, they have a very short break in and have been holding up great for me so far! I find them incredibly comfortable and fairly supportive/stable. The 2 issues I have is the upper metal clamps that holds the shoe lace in place can bend out of place occasionally. The other issue is your feet can get hot especially on hotter days. For background I use these boots at work I’m walking/standing most of my 40 hour week. I do a lot of hikes with them as well. Some hikes I have done with these boots are- around 40 miles worth of hiking at the grand canyon and Sedona AZ. 25-30 miles at the new river gorge. And probably 50 miles intermittent around my house in western Pennsylvania. There’s no signs of significant wear yet.

-1 star because they discontinued the older color ways which I believe looked much better. Regardless, these boots are my gold standard when it comes to all-purpose footwear. Solid build quality, haven’t had any issues so far and I’m on my third or fourth pair. Definitely recommend. They do run a little tight when brand new but I find that they break in nicely over a few weeks and eventually fit true to size.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I chose these Columbia hiking boots because I have had good experience in the past with Columbia. These boots arrived this morning, and after walking around the house in them for an hour to ensure that the seemingly wonderful fit and comfort would last, I wore them to the nature center and completed a difficult 2 1/2 mile hike. I bought these boots for my son and they just held up on an icy hike. The fit is true to size, the color and material were as advertised. They are easy to put on and tie and will keep your feet warm and protected during outdoor exploration and fun. They are also easy to clean, bonus! They are waterproof, provide good traction in different weather conditions.
